Spoke with a source close to #Celtics Jermaine O'Neal who said if he were to be traded to the #Hornets, JO would "never make it there."

        SherrodbCSN A. Sherrod Blakely
O'Neal contemplated retiring before this season, but came back for at least one more run at championship. Won't happen w/the #Hornets.

This is exactly why the NBA is a league full of ridiculousness

Dudes under contract saying they wont go here or there

Dudes demanding out before they fill their obligations

Its just a wack league now at this point, that lockout was useless

          Weird.

There's basically GOT to be something much bigger brewing......
The only thing I could think of is that maybe they plan on unloading Emeka Okafor. But to start Jermaine O'Neal would basically be saying your tanking to draft an Austin Rivers or Harrison Barnes next year.

Also, David West seems to have a good on-court relationship with CP3 so we'll see...

              True.

Although there's no way KG or West comes off the bench...

I don't get how this is a different trade than Chandler to NY. Were people upset at that trade?

                Agreed.

West would be a certainty for 6th man of the year if he does come off the bench. I actually really rate him. He's a tough SOB, nice post up game, fierce competitor. I'd take over Chris Bosh on my team personally. Very nice pick up for the Cs.

BTW Anyone else notice a trend here.......the big deals and signings arew the ones we hear NOTHING about before they happen.

Chandler to the Knicks =no one predicted it.
                D West a C? = No one predicted it.
Vince a Mav? = No one predicted it.

Most deals that are "rumours" and make the media are ones that have broken down. The legit ones seem to always come out when they are basically done.

I think Boston tries to get back into the CP3 race. If NO really preferred the Rondo package then I see them sending Rondo there (God knows he's gonna be a drama queen and his feelings are hurt now). I think they intend to pair him back up with David West and hope then that he's open to re-signing with the team. Plus, imagine if they could steal Paul away from LA after all this drama...

A source close to #Celtics J. O'Neal said if he's traded to the #Hornets, he will ask to be waived, and will look to sign with the #Heat. According to A. Sherrod Blakely

They have a version of the MLE, but I'm not sure what that entails for the Celtics right now.

Emobert already said he didn't want the MLE. When he was linked to Miami...

Teams have already probably unofficially offered him more... Houston being one of them.

Cuban is going to catch flack for this move and people will call Vince a cancer

But i would caution those guys to let this play out 1st because remember before coming to dallas Nick Van Exel, Jerry Stackhouse, Shawn Marion and D.Stevenson were all considered moody players who wouldn't fit in.

All those guys ended up playing solid minutes and roles in Dallas without any conflicts...

As for where carter fits in IMO i think he's being brought in to replace the offense lost by Caron Butler. I don't think he's going to play strictly SG as i believe the Mavs are going to use him at both SG and a hybrid Point Forward Type

He'll likely become there best ball handler after Kidd and this will allow Terry and Beaubois to stay away from PG duties and focus only on scoring since they are both turnover machines when asked to run the offense.

Carter is a perfect compliment to Marion when you think about it.....one guy will be used to provide scoring at SF th eother guy will be used to lock down high scoring wings.....they will probably split the 48 minutes with Brewer also getting some burn at SF.

So in a way Carter is replacing Caron Butler's 15 ppg on 45% shooting and Butler did that in 28 mpg last year before going down....He gives them a guy who much like Butler doesn't have the explosiveness anymore but his mid range game and ability to still knock down 3's a weakside shooter playing off of Dirk will fit Dallas system pretty good.

At best he'll be Butler at worst he'll be Peja LOL!
