Seriously. You're playing for basketball for a living. Some of these guys need to remember that.

Not a Toronto fan (although I guess they're almost a second team for me living in Canada and mostly only getting Raptors games on TV), but all I can say to this is hell to the no. Dude permanently burnt his bridge there. Maybe after he retires he'll be welcomed back, but the hate still lingers for him in Toronto (and Canada). He literally quit on the team and no one around these parts has forgotten that.

I see he's about to sign with Dallas though, so thankfully this isn't a possibility. Not a bad move for Dallas depending on what his role is and if he decides he wants to actually show up in big games.

I'm baffled. David West deal would appear to kill the 3-way CP3 trade. Hornets can't take on any $ in West deal and still do CP trade.

It sounds like it's a Jermaine O'Neal going to the Hornets in a sign and trade for David West.

          Boston is definitely loading up..

They could amesty Jermaine or Okafor though? I am guessing there has to be more to it.

This week is nuts...awesome that the NBA is back. I love FA and trade time. I am refreshing my page and half expecting to see CP3 and West to Boston for Jermaine and Rondo. Nothing would surprise me at this point

Soooo what they planning on playing KG at the 5?

              I don't know about that

KG and West have the same skill sets

For the Celtics' sake, I hope they're not signing him to a long-term, big money deal. Why you'd do that with a guy that's 31 and just destroyed one of his knees is beyond me.

They can't amnesty Jermaine. The player has to have been on your team before the lockout.

                  I think.....

West is a better low post scorer than KG at this point in their careers. You are right thoug, there's got to be something else happening......

KG and Ray Allen are in the last year of their contracts. They're trying to unload contracts to possibly make a push for a FA next year, as they'll be rebuilding around Rondo.

The only reason they were trying to trade Rondo was to upgrade to Paul. They're not actively shopping him though.

Next year you'd be looking at a lineup of possibly Rondo, Paul Pierce, Jeff Green, David West, and someone else. Id think either a shooting guard or a center.

They just now have two PF's... no centers at all on the roster

The more I think about it............this makes no sense.

West is a FA, so he can sign where he wants...but here we have NO getting involved and taking on a very old Jermaine O'Neal 24 hours after the NBA blocked the CP3 trade saying they had to get younger players.

                          Weird.

There's basically GOT to be something much bigger brewing......

Yeah. I don't think there Done.

                            They'll sign a C or a trade is coming.

It would have to be a three team deal. The Hornets would need more assets, so the Celtics probably would have to offer Jeff Green or possibly get the Rockets back involved so they can pick up Kevin Martin and some expiring contracts.

Whoever the Hornets do a deal with, they'll be picking up some expiring contracts so they can free up space to rebuild. Austin Rivers is a surefire top-5 pick next year, and Harrison Barnes would be there too...
