I hope NY gets the Chandler from Dallas and not the Chandler that played for Charlotte.

That's why I was so excited when I heard about the first deal, before it was vetoed. It looked like a perfect setup for another deal bringing in Dwight. This new revamped deal (although we really don't know what it exactly is) doesn't sound like it will make for a doable secondary deal to bring Dwight this season.

I do know one thing, it brings me a ton of entertainment reading all the speculative stuff in this thread. Not trying to sound insulting or condescending BTW, I'm being earnest when I say it's entertaining.

Thats a 5th seed. You telling me that team is guaranteed to make it past round 1? Round 2?

The Grizzlies, Thunder, Spurs, and Mavs will threaten, and the Clippers/Suns could be dark horses.

Remember, the Grizzlies did work in the Playoffs WITHOUT Rudy Gay, their leading scorer and best player.

The Lakers are getting old. Bynum wants to be "the man" on his own team, apparently. And the bridges have been burned with Lamar Odom (at least) and Pau Gasol. Regardless of whether the team SHOULD be blown up or not, the damage has been DONE. It's time for Laker Nation to prepare to move on.

You all know Kobe will.

Stats wise I don't see a difference, to be honest with you.

He actually played about 8 mins more on average in Charlotte so that's a good thing.

Paul would resign back with the Lakers regardless, especially seeing as how he wouldn't be able to go to his other(and only)choice in NY and because financially it makes sense for him.

He could never stay out of foul trouble, then got hurt. Lost his spot a bit to Nazr Mohammed then was traded.

Maybe but don't the Clips have cap room? Cant they technically sign Paul next year? He stays in La and gets to play with Gordon and Blake.

no you can't say the same thing about Dirk because Dirk has always been one of the top playoff performers throughout his career

His team might have lost but he still remains one of only 5 players in NBA history to avg 25 PPG and 10 Rebounds per game in the playoff even before he won a title can you say that about Gasol?

can you say Gasol is 4-0 in his career in playoff game 7's?

can you say Gasol's career scoring avg increases in the post season?

Can you say Gasol as a single All-Star player franchise has led his team to not 1 but 3 WCF's and 2 NBA Finals?

So please don't give me that Dirk dissapeared talk before last years Title....Dirk has always put up numbers in the playoffs he just never won the entire thing

You guys see Golden St and act like that series alone has been Dirk's entire playoff career....get a clue because i can show you stats numbers that shoot down your comment dating back to his 1st Playoff series vs Karl Malone
to his matchups vs all world Defender Kevin Garnett in which Dirk won those battles head to head

He has that same option.

I would hope there is something somewhere that can protect a team if they pick him up and he dogs it. Not sure if the NBA has anything like that...

That's a question of morals.

Personally, if I had a 15 year playing career, and I was responsible with my money, then 14 million isn't worth going somewhere that would jeopardize my family time/life and my own personal life.

Also, I'm not defending him. I'm defending his reasoning.

This could've been much worse. At least he's not on a team, and then becomes a cancer. Then a team would be stuck with 14 mil on their books and an unhappy player.

They are one of the most talented teams, hopefully they can just put it together... there's only one ball out there, for a team full of scorers, so keeping Luc is a good thing for that price.

I see your point. Was he depended on to score? That's definitely NOT one reason the Knicks got him. Now people can't double on Amare with both bigs knowing Jeffries will miss open layups (that bum).

As long as he's a defensive presence and boards, he could get his 8 garbage points a game and I think we'll be happy with that.

What? Two guys that are legitimately 7' and a 6'10" combo forward isn't the best or one of the best frontcourts in the NBA the past four years? Did the combo of Gasol/Odom/Bynum not make L.A. a match-up nightmare?? Yes, Odom and Bynum were either inconsistent or injury prone, but they still combined with Gasol to create a tremendous frontcourt.
