These same NBA reporters that claim a lot of things that aren't true?

I get that they are going to make an offer, but so are a lot of other teams.

I was just addressing this thought of delusional speculation. It's ok when a Laker fan does it, but when other people specualte (some actually using facts), it's blasphemy and an argument that holds no weight.

Then they cite that it's "trendy" to hate on the Lakers. Child please.

Hold up. I never said OH SOURCES SAY THE TRADES ON GMS ARE TALKING. Simply put, the Lakers have been heavily involved in trade talks in regards to CP3 and Dwight.

Delusional speculation is, oh yeah Mitch is trading LO's TPE and Walton for Durant probably and I really think Durant would benefit Kobe because yada yada yada. That's ridiculous.

Discussing NBA topics that have merit to them over the last 48-72 hours seems silly. Guess I'm just a delusional homer because I'm a Laker fan.

lol way to freak out over nothing. I never called you delusional now did I? All im saying is every single time I open this thread, I see you claiming some completly unlogical rumor, or arguing about the kobe's clear decline.

I could sit here and argue with you for days, but I dont mind it here and would prefer to stick arround for awhile.

and I think yall have it out for Drewski, he seems to be the only person not allowed to make speculation and everything else he says, even when he is right, gets completely ignored.
He's not speculating, he's talking basketball...like he said.

How is repeatedly mentioning the damage any combination of CP3, Kobe, Dwight Howard, etc. speculating?

Like I said, he's making good points. He has an opinion. He feels that Bynum, Gasol, and 3 1st rounders are better than Brook Lopez and two 1st rounders. I can accept that.

But I don't need another paragraph explaining how the Lakers don't really need CP3 AND Dwight, after saying how great it would be to have them, and then going into Kobe and his great footwork...if we're going to "speculate", then lets do that. How quickly did this almost turn into another Kobe/LeBron debate? Is that "speculating"?

No one has said yall's arguments don't hold weight, you have it backwards it yall Laker haters saying all the ideas the Laker fans make don't hold weight, then laugh at us and call us homers.

                • The Lakers pulled out of the CP3 deal, and will not be revisiting it anytime soon. They are focusing their resources on Dwight Howard.
                • The Lakers reportedly will NOT trade Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum to Orlando.
                • Orlando doesn't think the Nets' offer of Brook Lopez and 2 first round picks is substantial enough. No real surprise here.
                • It has been reported that the Nets would need to get a third or fourth team involved, though sources (Billy King?) have stated it would NOT be a problem. (According to what I've read here, this seems to be King's MO?)
                • Otis Smith has stated he will talk to all other 29 teams. The Bulls, per the Tribune, have stated they will talk to the Magic about Dwight.
                • The LA Clippers are the current front-runners for CP3.

If above is all true, which it should be, then we KNOW CP3 is not going to LA as of now. This means we can stop the rants about how good CP3 would look with Kobe.

We also know that both LA and the Nets have to go back to the drawing board regarding their offers for Dwight, and other teams are expected to jump in, including the Bulls.

So can we SERIOUSLY stop debating how good of a mid-range jumpshooter Kobe is or isn't, and get refocused? I mean, I'm not a moderator or whatever, but I want to discuss transactions, not who's the best player in the league. I'll go start a debate with the guys down the street if I wanted that.
We DON'T know anything. Just like the league shot down talks the 1st time, they returned to the table eventually and went at it again.

                • A criticism of the trade was LO has no value to New Orleans
                • It has been confirmed the package needed an extra draft pick included, and additional salary relief for New Orleans
                • The Lakers picked up another TPE (Now having a $8 mil and $5mil, non-combineable), representing additional cap considerations for NO.
                • The Lakers also picked up an additional draft pick in a deep draft consisting of many players who stayed an extra year in college because of the uncertainty of the NBA and other personal reasons.
                • There is no reason to believe that the Lakers are still not exploring scenarios where they can land CP3 or Dwight. The possibility (even if it was slim. Saw enough people complaining on this forum that the Lakers were DEFINITELY landing both now that they were getting CP with Pau) of getting both was ended the moment Stern blocked the original CP3 trade (the 1st time he vetoed it).
                • It's not unknown that Mitch Kupchak is exploring all options in regards to trying to capture Dwight and CP3, despite what "sources" say is or isn't happening. I'd like to think our collective community can draw our own analytical conclusions, but I guess we can't.

Seems like Mitch went and got some more components to go back to that table if need be. We've also seen Houston now offer a contract to Marc, which likely will be matched by Memphis (I am unaware of their cap situation). Houston clearly wants to add an established big man into their fold and surely would go back to the table. The Lakers pulled out of talks and begin re-working their wheels so they could negotiate with people other than the NBA God David Stern.

Thats complete BS. There has been PLENTY of speculation about other teams in this thread. ****, there was Howard speculation about the Bulls in this thread even though not one legit source has even reported they are planning to make an offer. But thats fine because this thread is about 90% speculation.

Something isn't "delusional" just because you don't believe a trade will happened and you want to discount reporters who actually have sources. I don't know if a Howard to Lakers deal will happen but there is no reason why Lakers fans can't discuss that rumor. Just like Knicks fans are discussing a potential Jamal Crawford deal right now.

So why can't you do it then?

The Los Angeles Lakers have pulled out of the three-team deal with New Orleans and Houston that would have landed Chris Paul in L.A., according to a source close to the talks.

Until I see something that suggests otherwise, I don't want to hear anything further about CP3 to LA.

This is a perfect example of how to debate without hating on the Lakers or their fans.
The bolded is true, but right now your right it is speculation not pertaining to what is happening in the near future, if at all.

I can understand some of you people not caring to read the speculation but Drewski didn't start the argument about Kobe's abilites, that was one the many Laker haters who said Kobe was a mediocre player.
