Now I'm supposed to believe Kobe is still a Top 3 player because Jared Dudley said so? LMAO. That's rich.
    A) I don't think Kobe is a top 3 player
    B) I just put that up there because your fellow Bull fan said no one who isn't a Laker or Laker homer/fan thinks Kobe is a top 5 (might have said top 10) player.
So I posted 3 non Lakers or fans who said he was top 5.

LA made 2 finals (winning 1), made another conf finals, only missed the playoffs once, made 3 other semis, 2 other first rounds, and missed it once. So if you want to count no playoffs or no playoff series wins as irrelevant, then we were only irrelevant, 3 seasons dude...
Your statement about LA being irrelevant through the ENITRE 1990s is false
Ha, I guess the 2nd most winning team ever winning (I believe) one championship in the 1970's and 0 in the 1990's is a success? The Lakers nevet one a championship in the 90's, dude. The Bulls (6), Rockets (2), Spurs (1), Pistons (1) did win championships during that time. Having Magic and Shaq respectively during the '90s helped keep them relevant in the media, but their best players between those two were Sidell Threat and Nick Van Exel. I would think that's a pretty big drop off.

Why on earth would 4 time NBA champ Duncan complain? He has had a great career and is allegedly retiring soon, as long as they compete of course he won't complain
Pretty sure he meant earlier in Duncan's career when they were getting embrassed by the Lakers in the playoffs. Back when an aging David Robinson and injury-prone Derek Anderson were his next best teammates. Timmy didn't complain, tested free-agency, returned and went on to draft Parker and Ginobili. He left the business decisions with the people payed to make them (Pop and R.C.), but things worked out. He could have bitched, complained and asked to be traded, but he was better than that. Can't say the same about Paul, Howard, Anthony, etc.

I'd imagine Nene is trying to see where all the chips fall for Houston, New Jersey, GSW, etc before he decides who to accept ridiculous money from.

                That's a pretty weak argument.

I could probably find 100000000 tweets by fans that say Derrick Rose is the best player in the league, doesn't make it true.

Kobe maybe Top 10 still, but might just be #10.

This isn't the Kobe discussion thread though.

Also missed out on the talk about West to the Pacers. I'll tell you what, they have made some nice moves the past couple years. If they get Mayo too, they are going to be a tough team.

we actually won the 1999 season, but you might not consider that the 1990s.
It is a dropoff, but I'm no so spoiled as a Laker to think that they were just irrelevant. But I probably took it too personally, I can understand where your coming from.

Hoping we take a look, was willing to take him handcuffed to his huge contract, now we can set a reasonable salary of he's interested in it. Definitely an upgrade over Dfish and Steve Chicken Pox Blake

i agree. the best players IMO are:
                              1.LBJ
                              2.Dwight
                              3.Durant

                              5.Rose
6.CP3(maybe better than rose, im undecided)
                              7.Melo
                              8.Kobe
                              9.Amare
                              10.Deron Williams

Kobe is barely hanging around the top 10 in my opinion, no doubt he is slowing way down

I never said it was true, I just posted comments from current/present/future players (NOT fans) saying he was elite.
That wasn't weak, it was proof against saying no one who isn't a Laker believes Kobe is top 5...
