What's the buzz around the league right now? I know DeAndre Jordan signed an offer sheet with GS, but I'm not really familiar with him. Any other buzz?

That's really it. DeAndre signed a big offer sheet, slightly expected, and Arenas has cleared waivers. Other than that

I don't understand how "rim protector" centers with very good defense and almost no offense are getting seven digit contracts.

Its' bad enough with Rose all of a sudden. I'm like where were you guys in 99-04. I think a SG that can create his own shot is all we need. I like the depth that we have, thats what makes the Bulls dangerous. IDK I have mixed emotions about D12. Don't really wanna give up Deng for Turk personally plus lose depth.

Don't know if this was mentioned:

SpearsNBAYahoo: Grizzlies expected to match four-year, $55 million offer sheet from the Rockets for RFA C Marc Gasol, source tells @YahooSports.

Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley says team will match the 4-year, $55M offer sheet from Houston on Marc Gasol. Check out the Hang Time Blog.
No brainer. Houston wants any Gasol they can get their hands on though, lol.

Ok so that really leaves two major free agent options for Houston to get a center this season. Nene or Sam Dalmebert. They could try a S&T for a guy like Kaman too I suppose. After Nene and Emobert, there is a real drop off to guys like Kwame Brown.

It's all about trends, I think. I remember hearing something about a copycat league. The league saw the impact Tyson Chandler had on the Mavs, and teams want that. So, that leads to multiple teams looking for that type of potential, which leads to overpaying for a certain player's services.

It's funny you can't ever like run an offensive play for DeAndre Jordan unless it's cut to the basketball for an alley oop/inside pass. Dude isn't even a great defender really his shot blocking is spectacular but he falls for fakes like it's nobody's business.

Yet dude is looking at like 10 million a year. Put him in the NBA 20 years ago dude would be lucky to make a training camp smh.

It depends on if Deng would be included. I'd imagine the Magic would want frontcourt depth seeing they would be losing Dwight, and I think Bass is headed to Boston if I'm correct?

New info on CP3/Clippers: since Stern vetoed LAL deal, offer will have to be clearly better. May have to include Gordon & Minn pick to pass.
Latest on what Clippers would have to put on table for CP3.
