Yeah. I don't know about his salary, but I'm not sure if they should give him another year. Dude has shown nada since being drafted.

C'mon Dwight. So basically you wanna be the GM and since you couldn't you're rolling? I guess that's better than saying God is the reason he's leaving.

That said, I'd still trade for him in a hearbeat lol.

Nene report: He'll end up w/either Nuggets, Nets or Rockets. But consistent word on this is that Dwight/Marc Gasol sagas must play out first

Lol, the highlight of Boobie's career was marrying Keyshia Cole. All he does is play like an online cheeser and chuck up 3s.

But yeah, let me quit while I'm ahead. They had some pretty decent bench guys. Forgot Anderson Varajao was on the bench in the beginning of his career.

              Has this already been posted?

Dwight Howard's trade demand from the Orlando Magic is due in part to the organization not granting his requests for specific trades and signings over the last several years, the All-Star center said Sunday night.

"I told them if something happens, I would never leave this organization high and dry like that and they understand that. This is a business and you have to do what is best for you at the end of the day."

This is what I was referring to earlier, how I can't really be mad at a player who is in the last year of his deal. Especially if said player gave his heart and soul in all the previous years to the franchise.

They had their run, they tried with the best of their abilities, but it just didn't work out. Instead of having one lame duck year and then losing out on immense value, might as well trade the franchise player for something.

I cannot be mad at Dwight, everything he said in the ESPN article I posted I can't be mad at.

Man, after reading that, I don't know. I get the feeling Dwight doesn't TRULY want to go, but it's getting to a point where he feels that it's best they move on.

I honestly think there's a 20-30% chance, if I had to guesstimate, that Dwight actually stays in Orlando past this year. Maybe he gives them one more year for them to acquire talent? I don't know, but I get the feeling Dwight is waiting for a reason to stay in Orlando.

We know it pretty much hasn't happened yet cause the Dwight issue hasn't been resolved yet. Only thing he's added to this is that the Gasol thing is a factor as well and that should be wrapped up by the end of tomorrow.

I agree with you. Never realized, he's been there 7 years. 7 years, and the best they had was Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu. And they were in there prime during that Eastern Conf. Finals run.

In fairness that was a damn good run. Hedo also was a better player then that what he is now. I don't know what got into dude after that year, but he definitely balled that year.

Rashard was an excellent third piece behind Howard and Nelson the first two years he was there. The problem was:

A: Both him and Nelson fell off after that
B: His contract made it impossible to add other good pieces
C: His contract made it impossible to get rid of him

I don't post in here often, more of a lurker (and, in the interest of full disclosure, a LA born Lakers fan), but, maaaaan, it's getting bad in here when Ex is getting heat

As a Lakers fan, I'd love Dwight. It'd be amazing to be able to make an, apparently, seamless transition, once again. I've said it elsewhere on this board, but I don't care about 'competitive balance', I want championships. Now, that doesn't mean I want to see other teams get gutted for garbage, but I want the Lakers to win every year.

That said, I'm not sure I like Pau AND Bynum for Dwight. If it's what it takes, it's what it takes, but that's mortgaging this year for the future. Might be worth it, but hard to swallow at the same time.

Heartbroken over losing Lamar. I dunno why, but he's probably one of my five favorite Lakers of all time. Not best, but favorite (let's see, NVE, Rodman (he counts!), Magic, Lamar, DFish). Sad to see him go.

Would really like them to pick up Agent Zero, though. Could be interesting if he'll come in for cheap.

Based on the moves made recently, and some of the rumors in the pipe, I'm really looking forward to seeing some Knicks games, and the Clippers could be really exciting.

I feel the exact same way man. Have to cut Lamar as a loss though in this situation, just tough to swallow. He was likely gone either way.

I was questioning Pau/Bynum for the last few days but in the end it's Dwight Howard. You go all in.

I hope to god Clippers wisen up and pull the trigger on CP3. Sounds like they'll even get CP's word on a small extension - 1 added year next year. Only way for Clippers to move on from being the team with Chris Kaman. All due respect. Clippers best served dropping Gordon off because he's getting paid in a few years and they have to pay DeAndre Jordan in this scenario. Find a way to keep the Minny pick and hand pick what potentially great talent you want to put on a rookie contract.

So this is better than the deal that Stern shot down?

The Clippers would send center Chris Kaman, guard Eric Bledsoe, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and the No. 1 draft pick to get the All-Star point guard, in deal said to be in the closing stages of talks.

It's just sad that Mitch decided to throw in the towel prematurely. Just sad.
