    DuranLA Beto Duran
Kupchak "no guarantee anybody will be here with exception of Kobe cause no trade clause and that's bottom line"

BESIDES the possiblilty of CP3 in LA, do Laker fans want to speculate on who else could possibly come to the Lakers? Maybe a couple slightly smaller pieces?

Maybe the Lakers work a trade with the Rockets to get Kyle Lowry and Patrick Patterson/Jordan Hill for Gasol?

I'm down for banning all Chris Broussard tweets from this thread. This guys is an infomation-falsifying attention whore.

But Dwight's just being himself...a primadonna diva.

This is sickening. The lockout was a complete waste of time.
It seems Howard is pro-Magic, right now.

But on another note, are athletes supposed to be seen and not heard? Why can't players be themselves? Remember, this is entertainment as much as it's a job. This ain't a 9-5 office job where the boss doesn't know ya name, dude.

Bledsoe and Aminu? Not even worth discussing.

I'm glad when the Knicks got Melo they finally came to their senses and said that they'd part with Timofey Mozgov. If something that stupid stopped the deal...I'd be mad with my own front office not someone else.
You are missing the point. Did Paul say he would sign?? No he didn't. I know we have to take reports and rumors for what they are but the word was the Clippers would do the deal if Paul opted into his last year. The deal didn't get done. So take what you want from that.

What the Clippers are paying the centers on the roster have nothing to do with this. We are talking about if they should give up 4 players and an unprotected 1st rounder from the team with the worst record in the league last year. One of those players has been an all star and another one of them was getting all star talk last year and is only 22 years old. You don't give that up for a guy who we all know is opting out of his deal for the big pay day. If he will sign then you do the deal. If he tells you he doesn't know then you don't do it.

Lastly you can't compare this possible deal to the Melo deal by no means. First of all the Knicks was given the fact that Melo was going to sign a new deal instantly. Secondly Gordon himself is better than anything the Knicks gave up and that unprotected first rounder from Minny is most likely more valuable than anything the Knicks gave up. These two deals are in no way comparable at all. The fact that Melo was signing before the trade went through makes it two totally different ball games.

If the league is doing this i guess i'll be in the minority but i understand why they would finally say enough is enough with guys dictating where they play while under contract with another team.
Your missing the fact that Paul WANTS to become a Free Agent. He gets more money that way, where ever he goes.

If the league is that adamant about dictating where Paul wants to go and not giving Paul the option right now, I’d say let Paul play out the season and let him walk after free agency. And then at that point, I wouldn’t blame Chris Paul one bit if he had a show called, “The BIG Decision” where he will announce what team he signs with. Then afterwords give the NBA office the middle finger after he states his choice. All the proceeds of the show will go towards the fines he accumulates from the NBA for calling Stern any derogatory three or four letter word he chooses.

But on a more serious note, I wouldn't be surprised if Chauncey is claimed/signed by the end of the night.

Actually it does have to do with going where they want. Let's not pretend these guys are putting the team ahead of their own wants cause that's not what's going on. With these guys making up they're minds that they're going one place and that's a wrap they are shooting all this value talk right in the foot. The Boston deal probably would have been the best deal they could have got cause they would have gotten Rondo out of the deal and if you're going to lose Chris Paul, the only way to really come close to being even in that would be getting Deron Williams, Derrick Rose or Rajon Rondo. They would've been getting that and he's locked up until at least 2015 so there's plenty of time to get pieces in there with him. Since Paul is hell bent on only going to ONE place though the Hornets CAN'T get the best deal out there.

So let's stop pretending these guys are doing this huge favor for the team. At least the ones that don't actually give a list of teams they'll sign for but just one location that has they're buddies on it.
K players shouldn't be allowed to be free agents with that logic. Should continually sign extensions so their teams can trade them anywhere they want despite what the player may or may not want. As opposed to finding a compromise, finding a feasible deal, and letting the team maximize value or letting a player walk in free agency. New Orleans doesn't have to trade cp3, but he can walk and leave them with nothing at end of season.
