Man, on ESPN they're talking like a Dwight deal won't get done until around the trade deadline if he decides that he wants to be traded... So this saga may go on for quite a while.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I know they just paid Thorton but you keep him,Jimmer, and Evans together. There is no way you trade a guy who was just rookie of the year a couple of years who can play multiple positions with at least two years left on his rookie deal. He is the guy you build around not get rid of. Salmons would be the first one gone if they are going to trade anybody.
They're basically trying players out and seeing who can fit with each other. We all see the same thing, a bunch of scorers. But their thinking may be that they could at least hit on 2 or 3 guys who could mesh with DeMarcus Cousins and possibly Tyreke Evans at the 2.
Remember, Marcus Thornton's contract is frontloaded.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Same thing with Tim Tebow. Herm Edwards mentioned this, but while the media and fans, etc. are so concerned about who should get credit for the Broncos' wins, and the fact that fans may or may not put so much on him, the only guy NOT making it about him at all is Tim Tebow himself.
Not comparing Dwight or CP3 to Tebow though. Just saying, the media chooses what goes on air and how often. How much of us would actually like to hear training camp reports on our favorite teams?
And when teams start playing their preseason games, how much do you guys bet ESPN and the media will over-analyze the "chemistry" between CP3 and the Hornets and Dwight and the Magic, and the states of their teams?
It's getting out of hand for sure, but only because we hear about it 10 times an hour.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I'm wondering what the Nets are going to do now? Do they take a chance of trading for Dwight later in the season or do they go on and try and sign Nene.NFL: Tennessee Titans
NBA: Indiana Pacers
MLB: St Louis Cardinals
NCAAB: Duke Blue DevilsComment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I'd put Portland in over the Knicks. He's gonna want to recoup some of that money he lost by buying out, and there's a clear need at SG in Portland. Also, this could force Crawford's hand a bit, since Crawford isn't considering the Bulls. But the Bulls definitely are the frontrunners.
Also, I have a friend who said he doesn't wanna see Rip in a Chicago uniformComment

Well Nene already has an offer from them and the Nuggets and Rockets I think, he's just waiting to see how everything plays out.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I'm not saying this year, that's why I based it on Jimmer's development. But what other reason would they be acquiring YOUNG talent with the same skills?

2. Jimmermania (god it's like basketball's version of Tebow) pretty much clouded management's judgment but like already stated he's basically a Jason Terry except white.
3. Tyreke and Cousins are the best players on the Kings roster and have the most upside period they'd pretty much never trade the two.Comment

I hope Nick Young is willing to take the full MLE. I'd rather have him then Rip, since he's seven or eight years younger."My body could stand the crutches but my mind couldn't stand the sideline"- Michael JordanComment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I dont even watch espn and I dont go to their website either
Its a mix of hearing the same old junk after the lockout which was pretty worthless
Chris Paul, Chauncey Billups and now Dwight flopping on his decision like a fish in ORL
Maybe he should just do like kobe and go all out. go on every radio station saying he'd rather play on the moon, have an ESPN hack tell the public he'll put his job on the fact that Dwight has played his last game in ORL... ask for teammates to get traded and throw Otis under the bus while saying the owner is a liar
Then when they make trades for him people will defend him and forget it allComment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
With that said, I don't forsee him going for the MLE. Young guy, coming off a pretty good year, and dude can flat out score the ball. I think he has $$$ in his eyes.Twitter - WTF_OS

Nene will be a Net by the end of the week. That I am just about convinced of, otherwise he still wouldn't be available right now.
But if the Nets strike out and not sign anybody....I don't even wanna think about that possibility, I just know they can't allow that to happen and go into the season with the SAME exact roster minus Humphries.#RespectTheCultureComment
