If the owners give in and give them that kind of money...

    What was the lockout for?

      Higher revenue sharing.

Bad contract can and will happen. But I'll believe Tyson Chandler getting 20 mill a year when i see it. And when I do, I will laugh my *** off at the team paying him that much.

But these "bad contracts" have been the focal point of a LOT of the debate around the new CBA; there is now a heightened awareness to these bad contracts. If the owners/gm's hand out MORE of them, then shame on them...

I believe the NBA needs contraction... Fewer teams with better players, and then go ahead and pay them bigger salaries. But a guy like Chandler even thinking he's worth this kind of money is baffling... We'll see if the owners agree with those of us who are sane, or the agent who convinces them such...

Exactly. I can't wait to see how the front offices handle free agency after the lockout. Very few players deserve max or near max money.

I hope nobody pays Tyson a crazy sum of money. Part of me wishes he'll end up like Bonzi Wells that year when he passed up the 5-year $40MM deal with Sac to take a 1-year $2.5MM deal with the Rockets.

24th, how would Caron fit in? What are they doing with RJ?

                  David Aldridge reporting:

The San Antonio Spurs have emerged as a strong suitor for free agent Caron Butler, according to a source.

Butler, who is coming off a knee injury suffered on New Year’s Day that caused him to miss the rest of last season, is one of the most sought-after small forwards in free agency.

He is currently being pursued by the Heat, Bulls, Spurs, Clippers, Nets, Pistons and Bucks, according to the source.

SA is obviously doing anything they can to unload RJ somewhere. I don't think adding a hobbled Caron Butler does all that much. I'd rather spend it elsewhere and let Kawhi Leonard get his feet wet.

Well there aint no way any team is going to trade for RJ, so that's not an option.

I meant, are they going to amnesty him? It's just an awful awful looking contract. One of the worst.

I agree with Caron though, I'm not sure how much he really helps SA if he goes there.

I've been hearing it's "likely" we amnesty RJ....

As far as Caron fitting in...unless Pop has a new gameplan, Carons not the spot up 3 we utilize in our offense...

He would definitely be the "free flowing" scorer we desperately need....

I would guess that's what they're thinking, and I agree that it seems impossible that any organization would trade for him given that contract.

Me too. I always liked teaming up 2 great players then instead of using another 10-15 mil on another All-star, spread that out on 1-3 other good players.

I don't see why they should wait untill after there prime to team up and wonder "what if we had been on team this good earlier?".

Because Caron is a better player (when healthy) then whoever all their SFs are.

Someone's gonna waste money on a gimpy Caron, a gimpy Josh Howard and a gimpy Michael Redd.

I'd stay as far away from those guys.
