Not saying the Rockets get better in this deal though, hell I'm not even sure. Even if they use the new cap space to sign Nene it's not like they will get past the 1st round unless they get a favorable matchup.Comment

It's whatever though. I'm not saying the guy isn't valuable. Hell, I won't even say Odom isn't valuable, but I would almost guarantee he's not going to be anywhere near as valuable once he starts playing in NO and stops giving a ****.
Back to the trade itself, New Orleans really couldn't have gotten rid of Ariza or Okafor's garbage-*** contracts? That would at least make this deal a little more passable.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Quick question: HOW DOES THIS TRADE REALLY CHANGE ANYTHING THIS YEAR?
Seriously, the Lakers were contenders with or w/o Paul. NO wasn't a contender with Paul. Boston was a contender with or w/o Paul. So was NY. The only thing this did was slightly increase the Lakers chances (it also took away their best post player and best bench player).
OKC is still a contender. SA is still a contender. Dal are the champs and they are still contenders. Chicago is still a contender. How the hell is Chicago or Dallas or OKC feeder teams for those four? Dallas won the championship last year.
Every year there will be 8-10 that could win the championship. Same this year.
i'm not sure they can get deep this year they lost 4 key rotation players and that's a lot of talent that helped them win a title
as much as i hate the Lakers i think having Paul, Kobe and Bynum or Howard will make them the favorites again.
Unless of course those guys start battling injuries all year...NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Reading comprehension. Go look up the word "deep". Not "better". Not "stronger". Look up "deep". The Lakers bench is Barnes, Blake, Fisher, 2 rookies and 2 2nd yr no names. How is this deeper than the Hornets.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
It was mainly a joke, but I just find it funny that at the end of the Lakers' playoff run last year, all their fans were crucifying the guy, calling him a bitch and soft and whatnot, but now he's suddenly got a 5-star trade value again.
It's whatever though. I'm not saying the guy isn't valuable. Hell, I won't even say Odom isn't valuable, but I would almost guarantee he's not going to be anywhere near as valuable once he starts playing in NO and stops giving a ****.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
You are assuming they land Dwight (which is a safe assumption) but as of now I think they are worse off.
I disagree that Kobe is worse with the ball. He has never been a great off ball guy. Him running through screens? For what? Spot up jumpers? That is not Kobe's game. Great, they now have Chris Paul who can skillfully pass the ball to Kobe in the high post.
So Paul may work his "magic," maybe but I prefer the magic of the Kobe/Pau pick and roll. well thats gone. LA better get Dwight.
Lakers priority at this point has to be fixing the 4.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Can you tell me how this deal made sense from a Lakers point of view?
Wasn't there main advantage their backcourt size?
Sure you get probably the best pure PG in the league, but you lose the 6th man of the year and a perennial all-star PF who took a LOT of pressure off of Andrew Bynum. I'm still not sold on Bynum's ability to be the #1 guy down low. Also with Kobe's abilities diminishing before our eyes, this LA team is going to be right back at square one in the next 2-3 years.
This seems like a band aid for LA, because I think now that there is no way there are going to be able to get Dwight as well.
I read also that the Hornets and Rockets are working on a deal to bring Gasol to NO as well? Is this true?
If so, they immediately become deeper than the Lakers."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment
