Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
A deeper problem in our society?
It's sports for crying out loud. Adults getting paid millions to play sports. That's number one for starters if we wanna talk about what's wrong with society.
When you get paid a fortune to play a game, you can't expect to play by the same rules as everyone else in society i.e. playing out contracts and what have you.
I may not think he's "all class" this and that or the other, but I think some of you guys seem a bit too upset. CP3 gave his heart and soul to the franchise and city for his entire career up to this point. So he didn't play out his last year? Calm the hell down, lol.Comment

And why would I trust a Hornets fan in their assessment? He's been that entire franchise for years now. They would never in their right mind speak badly about him.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, and you're new here so maybe you don't know this, but I don't need others opinions to validate my observations. I know what I see. And guys like Paul, and Howard are wishy-washy and fake.
Pretty sick of spilling ink on this topic actually.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
To me, Matrix, it's more complicated than that. The FO probably asks players the odds of them resigning long term. If the player gives low odds, the team looks to trade them instead of just letting him walk. If the player refuses to sign an extension and it's pretty obvious you'll lose him for nothing, that's basically the same as a trade demand anyway. The thing I don't understand is why make the demand? It might be easier to just tell the parent club you have no intention of staying, so if you want to trade me to acquire pieces then do it, otherwise I'm just gonna go sign elsewhere.
The problem that comes into play is the trading options then become limited as the other teams want to know what their prospects would be of signing the player long term. The question of "where do you want to play?" then arises as it becomes important to learn where he's willing to sign long term, basically just jumping the gun on where he might sign in the open market anyway. Those teams then need to decide whether to wait it out and enter a bidding war or try to make a move while he's still under contract and they'll have the opportunity to extend.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

So in non Chris Paul/ Los Angeles news
A recent heart exam on new Sacramento Kings big man Chuck Hayes shows an abnormality that will require further testing.
Seems like my boy Chuck might have some heart abnormality, I'm really hoping it isn't too serious an issue I've always loved how Hayes played for us and I wish him the best.Comment

Since a majority of it is hereditary I'd hope that team doctors look at medical history of the family to predict things like these I'm not blaming any of them at all but it's just such a scary thought.
Sort of like how the Military takes medical history extremely serious after certain incidents have occurred.Comment

Like I care about what anybody on the Hornets or any Hornets fan is gonna say on the subject. Do you really think one of his now ex-teammate is going to throw him under the bus? Of course not. A) They probably have more tact than that and B) Paul is doing a good enough job of throwing himself under the bus.
And why would I trust a Hornets fan in their assessment? He's been that entire franchise for years now. They would never in their right mind speak badly about him.

That being said, lets get to the main point right quick: is Paul REALLY a primadonna? Ochocinco and T.O. are primadonnas. Shaq is probably considered a primadonna. Maybe even Allen Iverson - a guy who missed a charity game in Vegas because he was allegedly hungover - is a primadonna.
Are we really putting Chris Paul on the level of Ochocinco, T.O., Shaq, and Allen Iverson because of a freaking wedding toast and a trade request?Comment
