Watching that press conference, with all the renewed promise heaped on the star crossed Clipper franchised, I can't help but think that Vinny will manage to screw this up some way some how.

Hopefully Vinny is getting some advice from Erik Spo about how not to melt under the limelight and the pressure cooker of coaching a star studded team.

Hey guys. I've been studying literally the entire day besides a few minutes here and there trying to give my brain a short rest, so I haven't been able to pay attention to the NBA today. Can anyone post a list of all the stuff that's gone down today (if anything)? Thanks.

        NBA: Bucks
        MLB: Cubs

Now, I'm not saying they don't have an exceptionally talented team, but I don't know if I would characterize them as a star studded team.

Vinny will at most, get them 1 playoff series victory. they will need a new coach to get them over the hump

Well, they have two superstars. Only other team with more than two is Miami. And it's really 2.5. Well, Bosh is a funny dude, so I'll give the team 2.75 superstars, but that's it.

Well I've heard that Jamal Crawford agreed to a deal with the Blazers and Josh Howard is going to the Jazz. That's all I know, but some other smaller deals should be falling into place now.

The Blueprint for leaving your team is simple:

Play out your contract and leave. Been like that for years.

They have as many franchise players (2) as the Miami Heat have imo...name another team besides the Heat and Clippers that have two bonafide FRANCHISE type players.

I can only come up with the Knicks in Melo and STAT...

Anyways my point is that, Vinny will be in the same position as Spo was last season. The question is he up to the job or not. I for one don't think he is a competent enough head coach to make it work.

Right, but are they really star studded?

                        I would say no.

Idk, I guess I just don't see anyone even remotely considered a star past Blake, CP3.

If you're gonna call LAC star studded, I could call a whole bunch of other teams the same thing.

Wait, so if your unhappy, you don't have the right to ASK to be traded? I mean, it IS a right. Just as much as a guy can ask for a trade, a team can say no.

What, so if I move into an apartment for a year, but 6 months in my unit gets infested with mice, do I have to live there until the end of my contract, THEN leave? I can't request to either have the problem fixed, or the option ot be released from the contract?

I'll ask this question and I think it's a fair one:

What has Blake done to be considered a Superstar now?

I just don't see how you can be so black and white about the topic of playing out your contract, especially when we're talking sports. It's the nature of the business, in every pro sport, to want out of your contract before it's up.

Of course there's a wrong way of going about it, but just because a player may want out prematurely, doesn't have to be such a negative thing.

And Pack, I do agree with you on calling Blake Griffin a superstar already. But he will be either by the end of the year or next year.. I think.
