Kaman looks like he was just denied Parole, Gordon looks like he did something wrong and knows he gonna get ****ed up when he gets home and Aminu looks like he's plotting somebody in the crowd right now.#RespectTheCultureComment

Troy Murphy has reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Lakers, league source tells Y! Sports.

Great off season I mean Gerald Green and McRoberts were something but landing Troy Murphy too? Cherry on top. #PowerOfLargeMarkets

Kapono is a good role player you just have to limit his minutes and make sure he stays in that role like Dallas did with Peja.
As for Murphy he used to be a double/double guy.....i know he had terrible year last season but I think Murphy is a quality big man off the bench. You have to think of this in terms of how do these guys fit your bench and right now even as a Non-Lakers fan....I think some of these guys are a step up compaired to what LA had off the bench last year.
McRoberts, Kapono and Murphy isn't as bad as people might think they just aren't the household names that Lakers fans have their eyes set on right now.
So your frontline backups are now SF-Artest, PF-McRoberts and C-Murphy....Blake is probably the backup PG unless they find something better than Fisher. If you ask me those 4 slots seem to pretty good for backup players now.Last edited by Playmakers; 12-17-2011, 06:13 PM.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

looks like they wanted to improve their outside shooting...which you have to admit was terrible vs Dallas last year.

Having McRoberts and Troy Murphy coming off the bench for Bynum and Pau isn't that bad. Its better than Joe Smith and Derrick Caracter (even though he's hurt), plus Kapono gives them legit 3-point shooting in limited minutes. He could be a Kyle Korver-type in a lesser role.Comment

Troy Murphy brings nothing to the Lakers except being an extra body. That's all he is at this point in his career.#RespectTheCultureComment

Kapono was a low risk, high reward, pick up. I think he definitely improves the 3 ball, but his shooting has been wildly inconsistent since he "broke the accuracy record". I mean..
(07 when he broke the record, each year chronologically after)
.514
.483
.428
.368
.125
So it isn't a far cry to believe his 3 ball days are back to being average (or below average)
Troy Murphy could end up being a solid rotation guy if he shows up playing like he did with Indy. Hopefully he hasn't fallen even further over the lockout layover.
McRoberts interests me the most, mainly because he's A) Still an unknown and B) A hustle player. Could be the steal in the haul but that remains to be seen. Lot of positive feedback from people watching him @ the scrimmage / practices, but I'll wait to see him actually play before annointing him a steal.
Hopefully the biggest upgrade to the Lakers ends up being Ebanks coming in hard after his rookie year. Think the kid has game and he played well at the scrimmage yesterday.
Also, excited to have Barnes back and healthy.Last edited by Drewski; 12-17-2011, 06:51 PM.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

Dave McMenamin: Kobe deflects divorce talk - Reporter: "Does coming to practice help you get away from personal stuff?" Kobe: "Like overly-strong hair gel?"
This is what concerns me the most. Kobe's head must be filled with bad things right now regarding this. I dunno, I hope LA can bounce back this monday.Hope is lost. Faith is broken. A fire will rise.Comment

As of now LAL seems to focused on having a more balanced roster than a star studded starting lineup. Now go get a PG Mitch...#1 Laker fan
