...Westbrook wants somewhere in the 80-95 million range in extension money

he Thunder want to preserve salary-cap space to re-sign James Harden and Serge Ibaka. With the new “Derrick Rose rule,” Westbrook could be eligible for 30 percent of the Thunder’s cap starting next year – a five-year, $94 million extension – if he’s selected to another All-NBA team. Oklahoma City wants to sign him for the smaller five-year, $80 million extension, because it doesn’t think it can keep the team’s core together with Durant and Westbrook gobbling 60 percent of the franchise’s small-market payroll.

Several sources close to the talks believe the sides will find a deal somewhere between the two numbers, but there’s no guarantee.
    What do you guys think?

It's nice that he's a good teammate off the court. Just wish he be more consistent of a good teammate on the court.

Hmmmm I don't know if I'd be willing to commit that much to Westbrook. Dude just has such erratic play. He has great upside but he leaves you scratching your head more times than none. The most important thing is having flexibility to keep Harden. The Thunder can't win without Harden, he's essentially the Thunder version of Ginobili.

With the Celtics struggling to begin the 11-12 season, several teams have inquired about the availability of Paul Pierce.
One Eastern Conference official said, there are “lots of calls asking if [Boston] will blow it up.”
Pierce has two years and $32 million left on his contract through the 13-14 season. Trading Pierce would allow the Celtics to become players in free agency.

Now is as good a time as ever to blow it all up in my opinion. Boston is not a good basketball team right now.

I personally dont think Paul is their best player I think Rondo is...

Best Players on the celtics imo:

                  Rajon Rondo
                  Paul Pierce
                  Ray Allen

I know people will say this is premature but I think they should blow this team up. I've seen quite a few of their losses this season and although they are not terrible they are really showing their age.

I could be wrong though, who knows. Maybe they can turn it around but it is going to be tough in this shortened season.

I agree, as a hardcore Celtics fan I think its time to break the big 3 up they really havent accomplished much every since that Kendrick Perkins trade.

Blowing Boston up now is a mistake. You have to give them this year and let them hobble into the Playoffs and then we'll see.

                          This is like lighting dynamite.

I say let Westbrook walk and resign Harden and Ibaka.

Let Westbrook go to somewhere like Phoenix (sorry Matrix) where he can get his 35 shots a game and be happy being "the man".

Westbrook is going to cost OKC a playoff game/series with his mentality thinking that he's just as good or better than Durant.

That Derrick Rose rule probably made his eyes just light up.

                          Let that kid walk elsewhere.

Should have done that Rondo trade... if it was on the table.

If it doesn't happen now, it will definitely happen after the season when Kevin's $21MM and Ray's $10MM come off the books. Maybe even regardless of the success or failure of this season.

You unload Allen and Garnett while they still have value (Allen has a ridiculous .69 TS% right now). You start rebuilding on the fly avoiding years of mediocrity.
