According to Wojnarowski, the Lakers are inquiring about Ramon Sessions.

Much better option than signing Gilbert Arenas.

Agree. Cleveland apparently trying to stockpile draft picks right now. Lakers have a few they could part with.

Cleveland is interested in stockpiling draft picks in potential deals, sources said. Several teams have inquired about Sessions lately, front-office sources said. The Lakers have a handful of players on short-term deals who can’t be traded until March 1

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)

It started last Monday, this inexplicable meltdown of the Magic, a five-game swing that has caused folks in Orlando to go from smiling about a win over the Lakers to pushing the panic button. There was the do-no-right loss in Boston, where the Magic scored 56 points and shot 24.6 percent. They bounced back with a win in Indiana, but followed that with another distressing loss to the Celtics—this one by blowing a 27-point lead at home. That was followed by a 67-point offensive output in a blowout loss to the lowly Hornets, after which star center Dwight Howard ripped his teammates. The week was capped by another blowout loss on Sunday, this time at home against the Pacers, where the Magic were roundly booed.
After the Pacers loss, coach Stan Van Gundy pointed out that the symptoms of the Magic’s ailments are identifiable. Cures, though, are not.

“It’s easy to come up with the reasons,” Van Gundy said in his postgame press conference. “I could be a sportswriter doing that. I don’t mean that even jokingly. ... It’s always easy to find the reasons. That’s not hard. The hard part is to solve it. To make it better. Obviously I have not gotten that done and that’s frustrating to me as a coach. My job is to get it done and get it turned around and I have not gotten that done.”
Realistically, there is probably not much that Van Gundy can do given the complexity of the Magic’s situation. This is his fifth season in Orlando, and he has established himself as one of the league’s top coaches—only the Celtics’ Doc Rivers has won more games in that span. But lately, Van Gundy’s message seems to be falling on deaf ears in an increasingly morose Magic locker room.
“I would say he is not getting through like he usually does,” one Magic player told Sporting News. “It’s on us as professionals to put things back together. But there is a lot of tension when you’re losing, so Stan sort of gets tuned out. It’s not his fault, but it is what it is.”
There is no question where that tension stems from—the impending free agency of Howard, which has been an enormous concern for the franchise for more than a year. That’s the chief reason the Magic's payroll has been among the top three the past two years, as general manager Otis Smith has tried desperately to spend his way into Howard’s good graces.
It hasn’t worked. Last December, with the Magic in the midst of a stretch of eight losses in nine games, Smith pulled the trigger on two big-risk trades, acquiring Gilbert Arenas, Hedo Turkoglu and Jason Richardson.
That appeared to be the Magic’s last stand when it came to Howard, a bold effort to get back to the Finals. Instead, Orlando was shut down by the Hawks in the first round of the playoffs and, once the lockout ended, Howard registered a trade request with his team. The Lakers, Mavericks and Nets are all part of Howard’s official wish list, but he has spoken openly about being willing to play for the Celtics and Bulls, too. Teammates have been put off by such discussion, and point guard Jameer Nelson admitted that Howard’s longing to play with Deron Williams or Chris Paul has affected him.
Further complicating the Howard situation is that Orlando is hosting the All-Star game this year, in late February at the new Amway Center.
Howard is the leading vote-getter so far, and the hope for the Magic was that the team would be playing well enough to push the potential trade to the back-burner. That way, Howard could smile his way through All-Star weekend in a Magic uniform, and the team could then decide what to do with him in the 18 days between the game and the trade deadline.
That’s how the year started—Orlando was 11-4 through its first 15 games. But it’s as if the first Boston debacle was a match for the Magic powderkeg. Howard, for one, blew up over the team’s dreadful performance against the Hornets, telling reporters, “I look at guys and they don’t look like they want to play. I told them at halftime, ‘If you don't want to play, just stay in the locker room, because it don’t make sense for a team who we should beat to just demolish us.’”
It’s early, of course, and one thing to be noted about the trades that brought in Arenas, Richardson and Turkoglu last year is that the Magic went on a nine-game winning streak shortly thereafter. Van Gundy’s style calls for good defense, feeding Howard inside and knocking down 3-pointers, and his teams have been prone to slumps throughout his Orlando career. But certainly, this slump has a different feel, with Howard’s frustration and free agency looming over a string of troubling losses.
Van Gundy, for one, is searching for answers. “I don’t know what we’re going to do,” he said. “Obviously, we’ve got to do something. I don’t know exactly what that is right now.”

Yeah man but this is a new trend with the nba

Harrass every single star player about leaving ALL THE TIME until the day he's gone, even if its from the year before.

Its like man Dwight you know this team has reached its ceiling and is in decline, just bounce and make it clear you're gone. Stop with the Mickey Mouse talk about I wanna be here but I wanna win

Contracting 4-6 teams would solve SO many problems with the NBA... sigh.
