Could be a case where something's better than nothing. Although their rookie has been holding his own..

Steve Blake was playing decently as well until he got injured.

I wouldn't turn Gil away but I wouldn't expect too much.

I wouldn't either...especially having to keep him on the roster for the future.. at least 2 more years right... money on the books

Wouldn't have to keep Gil on the roster. He'd be signing for the minimum and likely for a one year type deal to see what he has.

Also reading he got the Kobe German treatment to his knee.. Im sure how true it is but just floating.

Truth be told I like Goudelock alot, and have been going rah rah for him since he was drafted. He has great range, was the NCAA 3 point champion last year, and just needs more time to on the floor. Not to develop so much as to continue growing confident. He has scoring ability as is, something the Lakers bench/pg position is sorely lacking.

Blake being out is a blessing in disguise.

Despite the negatives of Gil I think you take him. If it doesn't work out, you cut him and move on. That Kobe's team and it isn't like he will influence it in anyway. If he gets injured, you move on. I take the chance that maybe it works out because IMO LAL needs a guard of his talents.

Either way he's the best option on what is out there on the free agent market.

If LA is forced to keep the guy for an amount of years then hell no I wouldn't want him. If they can just sign him to a one year deal I'm OK with that.

I doubt Gil is looking to sign minimum for half a season.. I don't think he'd get hurt again either Alt

I just don't think he's the answer.. even then he's taking time away from the rooks anyway. Its the fact that they're stuck with the formaldehyded corpse that is Fisher probably til Kobe is gone

Would it even matter how much he signs for since he's still getting checks from the Magic?

Win/win situation for him because if he signs, he has a job and he's getting paid and there are no real expectations of him. He doesn't sign, he's still getting paid. And since nobody else has hit him up, this might be his best and only chance this year to get on a team.

The Clippers and free-agent forward Kenyon Martin have agreed on a mini-midlevel deal that will be finalized as soon as Martin passes a physical, according to an NBA individual familiar with the negotiations.

Martin, who played for the Xinjiang Tigers in China and had been required to wait until their season was over before rejoining the NBA, was cleared to return to the NBA by FIBA, the international basketball federation, Thursday.

Glad he went to the other L.A. team. That team is perfect for him. He'll fit right in with that group.

I figured he was going there. Seemed like the most likely place for him to go.

Long as it's not Miami. Don't need any chance of them getting better at all.

Guess that means no more Reggie Evans. I think Evans was doing a pretty good job... at least no more Brian Cook for sure lol.

Evans can still play because he rebounds

Now the other young bigs... no go

Looks like Kaman will be rejoining the team and hold on to him for a little longer, must not have liked any of the offers and are just waiting it out a bit.
