Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Former Oregon point guard Aaron Brooks probably will have to delay his return to the NBA, because he and his Chinese Basketball Association team are playing too well.
Brooks, a 2007 first-round draft pick of the Houston Rockets who was traded to Phoenix last season, signed with Guangdong shortly before the NBA lockout was settled in December. The Arizona Republic reported that the Suns still hold his restricted free-agent rights when Brooks returns, but he must remain in China until his team is eliminated from the playoffs, which likely will stretch into March.
Guangdong is in first place at 23-4, and Brooks is averaging a team-best 20.5 points and 4.8 assists. He’s also shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 44.2 percent from three-point range in the CBA, where the top 10 scorers are Americans.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Any move that gets 7 Day Dray off the Wizards is an automatic win for the Wizards. They can get Michael Jordan's tacky *** outfits and big *** Mom Jeans and they'd still win that deal.#RespectTheCultureComment

Mitch Kupchak recently talked openly about the Lakers' desire to acquire a young, talented point guard ahead of the deadline.
“Well, if there were a way for us to get a 25-year-old, All-Star, ball-handling guard we’d love to do it," said Kupchak to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com. "But that’s not likely in February. So you look at other alternatives, and see if it’s better than what you have. That’s all.”
Rajon Rondo is the player that fits that description, possibly the only one in the NBA.
Sources say the Celtics have interest in acquiring Pau Gasol for Rondo.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Gasol for Rondo? If this goes down, Ainge will be making a big mistake. Maybe bigger than the Perkins trade. Why would you trade away probably your best player for a guy, who is still serviceable, but hitting the downside of his career? And I understand the cap situation and the free agent possibilities but none of it is guaranteed. So Aingem if he's thinking about it, better think long and hard about this one.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Boston aint giving up Rondo for a dude on the tail end of his career
I mean the rumor was started by Eric Pincus anyway... how many times over the years has he been owned on his false rumors? He's the Broussard of the Laker fans worldComment

LoL I followed up on that yesterday and laughed all the way. Funnier were Laker fans justifying this trade as if it were in the realm of possibility. Rondo's on a fantastic contract, Pau Gasol is on the decline, no way Gasol is the best they could get for Rondo, even if they just want Gasol to flip him as an expiring in a couple years.
Agree, Laker rumors are generally the -worst-Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment
