Think it goes by record if I'm not mistaken unless that player goes thru waivers first.

RT @KevinDing: Kobe called Pau "consummate professional" but said: "If your head's on chopping block, hard to put all of self into game."
****ing pathetic. Does this guy know HOW MANY PLAYERS have been "on the chopping block" year in and year out and never let their play suffer?

      What a joke.

He does have a point though because it is tough to go out there and give it your all when you're not wanted, especially when you were already moved, only to then hear, "Oh nevermind, you're not going anywhere"(see Lakers-NBA failed trade).

I would look at my paycheck, and that would be enough motivation for me.

Dudes now are too damn sensitive and they practice a double standard. Ohh you're supposed to show me loyalty and not trade me, but then when FA comes around, they bolt to the next team so fast it will make your head spin. Players can't have their cake and eat it too.

            I agree with that.

But I also know it's just not as easy as "Oh, well you're getting paid 6 figures, shut up and play, BOY!" as much as we want it to be.

Lol you mean 8 figures, and some times 9 figures smfh.

Either way, yea I know what you're saying.

Still, they should suck it up and play. These are grown men, it's not like their daddy is coming in and saying he's not proud of him. It's a game, that they get paid tons of money to play.

Yeah but dude, so many guys have been involved in trade rumors over the years. Remember how Amare and Marion were rumored to go every which way EVERY SINGLE DAMN YEAR? They never let it affect their play. And clearly all the stupid calls for Nash to be dealt isn't affecting his play either.

And those are just a couple of Suns examples.

                  It's no excuse.

I agree with all of you. Most times it depends on the player because if you're good enough, stuff like that won't even get to you as far as having your name on the trade block.

I went thru the whole Melo Drama last year with everyone on the team except Brook being rumored to get traded. Then The Russian says nobody is getting traded and next thing I know, we win 5 of our next 6 games so it definitely had an affect.

I can see it having an effect on team chemistry if a guy on your team doesn't want to play with you anymore, and has made it clear he wants out, but random players being brought up in trade talks is common place. It shouldn't effect so called professionals.

I mean I know it does, and Pack as you said, we've seen it, but still...lol it shouldn't happen.

Thats like signing up for the military and acting surprised when they want to relocate you

You know the deal when you sign up for the job

I see kobe on tv fussing at Pau on the bench then comes and says this to the media

What do you think LA would be like if they could trade that 30 million dollar contract and build around the two 7 footers kinda how the Spurs did at the end of David Robinson's career?

Pau is lost its very hard to say what they could be sans Kobe. Not sure how to even estimate a trade market on Kobe hypothetically.

Kobe ripped nto Pau tonight. Was watching the Suns broadcast and it caught them on the bench during a timeout.

Pau is broken, I'm pretty sure. Not sure he will ever play at the level he has in the past, consistently, again. Just the way it feels having watched them all year.

I wonder if the Lakers have ever talked about trading Kobe in the last couple of years.

Kobe should tell the Lakers to "****ing ship Pau's *** out", because that seemed to do something to Bynum's career and worked out well for him since.

Pretty sure back in 07 and 09 there were some talks about Kobe being traded.

I think he did alright after that lol
