Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)

For the life of me I cannot understand why the Nets would trade away a Top 3 protected 1st round pick for Gerald Wallace.

Gerald Wallace has an $11M Player Option for next year which he is gonna pick up for sure. He's not crazy.

So you give up a Lottery pick in a deep draft, you keep Gerald Wallace and you risk Deron Williams waltzing his way to Dallas next year.

So to open up the Barclays Center in Brooklyn next year...Gerald Wallace and Brook Lopez will be the face of the franchise?

    You gotta be kidding me.

Get something...ANYTHING for Deron while you can. You can surely get an additional pick and stockpile players for Deron RIGHT NOW.

    What a franchise.

          There you go.

Cleveland will get the Lakers 2012 first-round pick in the Ramon Sessions trade, league source tells Y! Brian Windhorst 1st reported deal.

the draft pick the Cavs are getting back for Session is the Lakers 2012 1st round pick. So atleast CLE got the 1st round pick they wanted. Still a great pickup for the LAL.

            edit: late LOL

Got our other 1st rounder, I'm happy. The other pieces were fodder for the Cavaliers and Lakers.

IT JUST GOT BETTER WE DUMPED LUKE

#Cavs have traded Ramon Sessions to Lakers. Deal also sends Eyenga to Lakers for 2012 1st rounder (top 14 protected) and Luke Walton

                    But so be it.

Edit: not to mention you could potentially parlay those picks for a better veteran than Wallace... during draft time.
I'm failing to see what the issue is then?

Is this more about the pick itself or the players? If it's about the pick itself then I understand where you're coming from with this but if it's about the players than you're losing me because all we did was swap expiring contracts with the Blazers. Again, we sent 2 players who ARE NOT playing at all AND are expiring contracts for a player we get to rent for 25 games and then he's off our hook after that.

Well we still have the 1st round pick from Dallas that may be a higher pick then the Lakers depending on how the records end up. Good upgrade at the PG, now if only he could improve his shooting.

Wow, the Cavs took on Luke Walton's contract?? Ugh... makes me physically ill and I'm not even a Cavs fan. Eyenga can defend the 2 guard spot pretty well too.

Isn't he an expiring contract now anyways? Doesn't really matter either way though
