This is just my sense of things from talking to a couple of dozen people about it, but I'd say 60/40 in favor of the trade. Surprisingly, the older folks, 35 plus, are mostly ecstatic, you would think those us in Fishers age bracket or older would be the ones who most wanted him to stay, but that hasn't been what I've seen. Besides the 20 somethings here on OS, and some guys in the media, it's been high schoolers who have seemed the most upset with the move. Like someone traded away their Uncle D. Fish.
I said this earlier, and Mitch's statements confirms it, burying him on the bench was not a viable option. A couple of bad losses and here is Kobe in the media cussing folks out about getting his boy back in the starting line up.
Now if they do have a bad stretch, he could still go off about his boy getting traded, but he'll have to eventually get over it, because that isn't the same thing as Fisher still being there like the Ghost of Championships Past, haunting the team from the end of the bench.
If Mike Brown is smart he will give Hill 8-12 minutes a game, barring foul trouble by Andrew, and tell him "every rebound is yours", and "no free layups given up at the rim" He's been inconsistent of course, but he's shown himself capable of being a prolific rebounder and descent shot blocker.
