      Shane Battier.

      I assume it's for Miami's MLE...so that mean's no improvement to Miami's frontline. Woohoo!!

No Samuel Dalembert. No Mike Miller amnesty.

Chris Bosh splitting time at Center.

      Joel Anthony.

      East...we have a chance

Smart move by the Heat, Battier will be a great addition to a team that needed a voice of reason and guidance. Time will tell if not using the MLE (its assumed the Heat used it for Shane but we don't know it's pure speculation) on adding to the front court will hurt. Hard to turn Battier away if in the Heat though, I think he will help them tremendously

Doesn't help the Heat that much. He'll shoot worse than James Jones but he'll play a little better defense than Jones.

According to Real GM, Jamaal Magloire will sign with the Raptors. Not sure what he can offer that team other than 6 fouls.

Also, TJ Ford is leaning to signing with the Spurs for the veteran minimum.

a lil better? I'm pretty sure Jones isn't in Battier's class when it comes to defense, not to mention Battier also has post game unlike Jones...

Not to mention that Battier's also a better passer, has a higher overall bball IQ and by all accounts, is a great locker room presence. Dude sounds like the quintessential roleplayer and makes Miami as good a perimeter defense team as there is. A little bit more than a slight upgrade over James Jones, if you ask me.

Agree wholeheartedly. Battier is a great pick up. If only to make sure he gets his hand flat in front of everyone he defends.

Great get for the Heat and Shane. He going to add great character to that locker room.

I think Shane from 3 years ago would be a massive upgrade for the Heat.

I think Shane is losing it quickly, though. Losing his quickness, his shooting touch, and his post game is still decent.

He will lose alot of weight in the humid Miami weather.

Low risk move there, they don't need Curry to do too much and who knows, maybe he plays well.
