If Brooklyn signs Nene, they are pretty much saying they are done thinking about Dwight, am I right?

IF they could convince Deron to stay and IF they sign both Nene AND AK-47 to put with Deron, MarShon Brooks, Lopez, and Jordan Williams, then that could be a good team. Probably good enough to be 4th best in the East behind Miami, Boston, and New York (assuming they sign Chris Paul).

That's how you feel bro? Bulls had the best record in the conference last year and a second scorer away from the Finals and now we can't even get in the top four of the conference? Behind Boston no less. I know we're at least better than them.

My guess is he misspoke...or else that would be ridiculous. Bulls look to also have Noah and Boozer healthy for the start of the season which should make them better than they were last year.

Yeah I absolutely forgot Chicago. My bad. So I guess BRK could be 5th best ... unless I'm forgetting another team lol.

The thing with Lopez is people forget his first 2 years in the league, he averaged 8 RPG(which I personally think is his ceiling) so it's not like he's not good rebounder because he's proven he can and offensively, he's one of the best at his position(although he can improve his post game in that regard).

This article explains a lot better than I could about how they would mesh together because that was a question I had and still kinda have:
Read all latest news headlines from USA, UK and around the world, get today's breaking news and live updates on politics, elections, business, sports, economy, ...

My thing with that is how would they go about resigning Lopez because I'm almost certain that he'll get a max deal or around that in his next contract and how we would afford both of them. But as we've seen in this game, you can never have enough bigs.
Well see I don't consider 8 rpg good for center, I only like 10 and up, I consider 8rpg to be average personally. But i guess it is for a non star player.
As long as his price range isn't high I have to agree, you can't have too many big men. Just saying if they get Nene I can see him being a trade piece in the near future

His athleticism is equally as exceptional.

I do question his heart at times, his rebounding and his defense. I wish he would be a bit rougher inside and take more fouls on his opponents. I think one could make the argument that he disappears in the playoffs. He certainly doesn't raise his level of play when the lights come on.

Paying Nene an excess of 16 mill a year isn't a pretty sight, but I do understand that bigs do not grow on trees and Nene is a top 10 center. Personally I wouldn't take him for that money, but at the same time, I won't be mad at the team that pulls the trigger. Tough call on players like that.

To Nene's credit, he was very professional even though Denver never offered him money til late.
Yea Nene is like Joe Johnson to me: A great player as long as he isn't the top dog or preferably even 2nd top dog. I think pairing him with Dwill it wouldn't be a problem if he was the 2nd option on offense. They have 16.2 million so hopefully they won't spend it all on him.
They also need to amnesty Travis Outlaw.

Well as it looks like the Nets are hell bent on overpaying for Nene (AWESOME.) I guess that means the Lakers get Duhwight later this year. Congrats. Hopefully something better is in the works to convince Deron to stay with the team. Or maybe that he gets more money staying with the Nets.

If LA does trade for Howard, I'm sure the Magic would want no less than Bynum and Pau and possibly someone else in return. That's kind of steep to me. I don't think a Bynum/Odom package gets the deal done.

If he's hell bent on getting paid more than if I'm Mark Cuban i'm calling ATL and offering Chandler in a S&T for Josh Smith

ATL needs a center so that they can move Horford to his natural position PF

I actually think ATL would bite on that deal and the Mavs could then move Haywood into the sarting lineup at 7 million a year as opposed to paying Chandler anything over 10 million

A lineup of Kidd, Fernandez, Smith, Dirk and Haywood really isn't that bad and you can amnesty Haywood in the summer if any of the big 3 hit free-agency (Howard, Paul or Williams)

Now lets say D.Will isn't traded and becomes a free-agent...he's said on record that dallas is a destination he'd prefer.

Now you have Dirk, D.Will and Josh Smith to build your team around next offseason....without over paying Chandler.

As a die hard Mavs fans i love the heart and energy that Chandler brought to the team but he's not a Super Star and his offensive game is lacking. He fits best as role player who can do the dirty work inside.

He's 29 already and there are no gurantees he's going to stay healthy again

It's a tough call but like i said if Cuban can turn Chandler into Josh Smith i could live with that as a Mavs fan and take my cap room into the Summer of 2012 looking for a bigger fish than Chandler.
Did you copy and paste that from Bill Simmon's most recent article? I read it the other day and it seems like the exact same thing.

A Bynum/Odom offer is better than what they'd be getting from any other team.

It's not really that bad of a trade off IMO. Bynum is not some bum, and neither is Odom. When healthy, I'd have Bynum right after Howard at the center position and he's only 24. I think he has the potential to challenge Howard as the NBA's best big man if he can just stay healthy.

Bynum Gasol is too steep for Dwight, especially considering that the Magic really don't have anything else to add to the pot. If it comes to that, I think it evolves into a three team trade, because I dont see what the Magic would want to do with Pau on the book (big contract for a team that isn't exactly contending). But Bynum/Pau outright for Dwight... Not so sure.

Reports this morning that Riley is trying to interest Greg Oden in Miami for the MLE. If he could stay healthy, that could be huge.

                              Why?

We'll finally be in cap heaven next year and will have options...even if we lose out on both CP3 and Dwight.

Why sign a guy like Oden? Potential?
