According to sources close to the talks, the Warriors' offer includes third-year guard Stephen Curry, rookie guard Klay Thompson and second-year forward Ekpe Udoh. Golden State would pay a hefty price on top of losing those players because its plan would involve waiving center Andris Biedrins via the new amnesty clause (his deal has three years and $27 million remaining) and signing Chandler to a four-year deal that would likely start in the neighborhood of $15 million annually.

Hope they can get Chandler cheaper than $15 mil but we'll see. I'd really like to see Mark Jackson run that GSW team up an down the western conf every night. Breathe some life back in there.

Thats what I'm saying, this isn't like going to (no offense) Sacramento, Milwaukee, or Toronto.

Forget the size, that passionate fan base, smart GM, mostly solid and young team...that should be a hot spot.
I honestly can't imagine that crowd getting any more nuts, and as a Laker fan I really don't want to lol.

How the hell is a midget backcourt of Chris Paul-Monta Ellis going to compete for NBA championships?? He basically wants to recreate the 2008 New Orleans Hornets in a sense, but that time has past. Well, I trade Monta and keep Thompson, then possibly make that trade. I just don't see that as benefitting Paul or Golden State.

Toronto is a massive market, actually.

              But I get your point.

This was exactly my question, would that team be better than those Hornet teams?

I'll be real with you though, IMHO, I thought those Hornet teams were championship material. They just didn't have any kind of depth [thanks to cheap ownership], and depending on Morris Peterson and Peja as your wings...

But you're right about Monta/CP3. It's a tough question. Also David Lee isn't the offensive player David West is, though he is a rugged rebounder for his size.

I don't know if CP3 would seriously make Golden State his home over the next five or so seasons. Unless they had changes in mind...

Wow @ that GSW offer if it's real. They'd definitely make the Pacific conference much, much tougher. New Orleans would actually get back some really good talent too.

Looking at the Lakers schedule and assuming it the Lakers wont be a bad team while still learning Mike's system, I like our Dec-Jan schedule. We should have another fast start.
But February? 9 of 14 are on the road and we basically hit every part of US but the mid west, which is replaced by Toronto. Noteables in February being @: Denver, Boston, Dallas and OKC.
March: Also road heavy but most of our tough games like Boston, Memphis, OKC, etc are at home.
April looks manageable. I'll withhold judgement on a record till trades are finished but I think I'd be surprised if we won less than 50 games.

Everyone on the lakers is tradable except Kobe. That's a fact especially when your talking about Howard and CP3.

In a normal scenario, the Magic would probably not entertain the trade proposal of Bynum/Arenas/Odom for Howard/Arenas or just Bynum/Odom for Howard. However, this is not a normal scenario.

But think about it...if Otis doesn't get something, ANYTHING for Dwight this year, he takes a major risk that he walks for NOTHING next year when he's a free agent. This with Dwight giving off vibes that the team hasn't done enough to put a winning roster around him.

I think we see Dwight traded soon. It won't be a completely fair trade, but you can't minimize the value of getting something when the only other alternative is getting nothing and the vast majority of trades aren't completely fair.

I hear people saying that such-and-such trade won't happen because it's essentially illogical. We just went through a lockout and nearly lost the entire season after one of, if not the best, seasons in the past 10-15 years. GM's generally DON'T make financial decisions based on sound logic alone. The majority of all FA and trade decisions all have us saying, "Really? That just happened?" C'mon, we're preparing ourselves for the probable scenario of Tyson Chandler getting a 12-15 million dollar PER YEAR contract. In a logical world, that's overpaying him but a minimum of 50%.

In my opinion, trading Howard for Bynodom is like trading 1$ for .75 cents, with Bynum being the 50 cent piece and Odom being worth roughly a quarter. Maybe 80 cents if Bynum stays healthy, but in 6 years, he hasn't shown that ability. He's played a full season once and averages 50 games per season. But as a GM, you absolutely can't let your franchise player and only elite center in the league walk without getting anything in return.
