Not that they would ever have a right to do this anyway lol

I really don't see him any different from what he was in Memphis...he's overhyped because he's in LA

That's why i was so glad Dirk had the chance in front of everyone to show them nothing has changed about Gasol he's still Dirk's &%&% on the floor regardless of where he goes to play.

If he was in Milwaukee being traded for Chris Paul people would call it a rip off in the Bucks favor

The Wolves got Anthony Randolph and apparently Eddy Curry.

Basically, the Hornets have to immediately be able to enter rebuilding mode with someone to actually build around, at least. Goran Dragic would've been the youngest guy in that deal, and he's 25. Plus, Dragic at this point isn't someone you plan on building around.

That's why I think Stern will insist the Lakers trade Andrew Bynum to the Hornets. Like it or not, that's the only way you're getting Paul. Who knows, the Rockets may send Jordan Hill or Patrick Patterson to the Lakers, or the Hornets may send over Carl Landry. But I'm pretty sure Bynum will be involved in this deal.
Not highly interested in this package as the Lakers then, might be best to walk away from that table and focus on creating a Dwight / Pau front court, or just stick with our squad. Hope NO can find an equivalent deal elsewhere.

You're not okay with getting just CP3.

That's why it was pretty silent when the first trade went down because you all knew that it was a precursor to something else (D12). It's the reason you (not you in particular) kept saying that the Hornets were getting a "fair" deal and have depth when we all know the Hornets roster would be full of garbage.

If I just got one of the top players in the league...I'd be pretty pumped don't you think? It was crickets in here because you all knew that it was just Step 1 of 2.

Now that it appears that the Lakers will have to give up more...which would in turn hamper them being able to trade for D12...it's more of an issue.

I really don't care anymore what the Lakers do...but stop fronting and just call it what it is.

Overhyped because he was in LA? Easy there bud.

He was a hell of a player in Memphis, they won a lot of games out there with Pau as their leader. He just wasn't cut out to be the guy to lead them in the post season.

Fast forward to Los Angeles, and he was reason 1B as to why LA made the finals 3 years in a row starting the first season he got there.

Now fast forward even further to present day, yeah I personally wouldn't want him if I'm rebuilding. That's just pointless. He's still valuable as hell to a contender though.

It's silly to call him overrated because in different contexts he'd be rated extremely differently.

Lots of speculation that Emeka Okafor is in the new CP3 deal. Source says he is not part of trade.
Okay, with Odom still going to NOLA, and Emeka not being a part of the deal, and Houston sending/receiving the same pieces, I don't understand how this "revised" deal gets revised and rubber stamped unless Bynum is gone too but I cannot see the Lakers doing that.

I don't think Dwight is going to LA.

A small factor in that could be the business side, sort of, of things.

                          Kobe is sponsored by Nike.

Paul is sponsored by Jordan, which is under the Nike brand.

                          Howard is sponsored by Adidas.

Don't wanna make it WAY more than it is, but I can't see one billboard marketing Nike, one marketing Jordan, and one marketing Adidas in the same city/relative area.

It would be much easier for Dwight Howard to market his brand in Chica... I mean, NJ/Brooklyn

It's tough to get equal value anytime it involves a franchise player. It's gonna be tough to get equal value when said franchise player is in the last year of his deal, so basically he is controlling where you send him to.

You also conveniently fail to mention how NO's would get Odom as well as draft picks in what is going to be one hell of a draft.

Now that Stern crushed the deal, Odom's value has gone way down... since he's back in LA crying about being traded.

But outside of the Pau trade, you have to mention more times the league has bailed the Lakers out in terms of trades.

I prefer Howard but I'm happy with either. Its quiet because no one knows what the next deal is. If Nene goes to Houston than Howard goes to the Nets and the Lakers have to find a few other bigs. I'm waiting to now what the entire team will look like (w/ or w/o Howard) before I start talking about the season.

Also nobody's "fronting." Lakers fans can't win here. If we brag about the Paul trade, we are bandwagon jumping front runners who the NBA helps at every turn. If we are quiet, we are "fronting." Give it a rest.
