The face of your franchise comes out and says he wants to play elsewhere when he has 2 years left on his contract? Nah...that's an issue.

You really think that didn't rub Stern and the owners the wrong way? Did you read Gilbert's email?
The Gilbert email was all about the luxury tax money. That's all that was about. It had nothing to do with player collusion or players wishing to play for another team with some years left on their contract. He even pointed it out in the email when he mentioned that the Lakers was saving $21 million dollars on the trade. $21 million that was going to non-tax paying teams.
Over the next three seasons this deal would save the Lakers approximately $20 million in salaries and approximately $21 million in luxury taxes. That $21 million goes to non-taxpaying teams and to fund revenue sharing.

Dwight Howard on Orlando (via @NBATV): "I love this place and there's no place I'd rather be."

I actually saw the interview, or a part of it, and he sounded sincere. If even slightly, it's a different tune from what we were hearing 2 days ago.

And for people wondering why I keep typing Outlaw, it's because this was something that was created on NetsDaily. So instead of typing out a bunch *****'s when you're cursing, you just think of the worst player that has ever played for your team and use their name instead.

So for example, let's say you're a Cavs Fan and you think Vitaly Potapenko is the worst player that ever played for your team. Instead of saying something "Mother ******" or "Son of a *****", you just say "Mother Potapenko" or "Son of a Potapenko" or "What the Potapenko is that?".

If you're a Bulls Fan, you can say someone like Marcus Fizer-"What the Fizer is this".

Wizards Fan-Tyrone Nesby(Holy Nesby or Son of a Nesby).
Potapenko is too much of a hassle. Thus, I'll go with Jiri Welsh.

Got a strange feeling that the Magic PR probably told him to cut down on the "I want to be traded" noise for today, especially since he made enough of it over the weekend.

Yeah, if he kept that up, then NOBODY would want to go play in ORL, regardless of if Dwight was there or not. He was killing Otis and them in the interviews. However, he could be sincere and want to stay, but Otis and the guys could have said "Listen, you're damaging the franchise by saying we aren't listening or trying to get you help... back off, and we'll see what we can't do to accommodate a trade to a place of your choosing..."

                Or something along those lines.

Is Chris Jent or Charles Jones good from a Houston standpoint? I'm tempted to just go with Thabeet then again. Or possibly Bryce Drew, so many decisions .

That's all well and good but Boston was willing to get him without the guarantee that he'd sign longterm in the hopes that they could convince him to stay, but he wouldn't even agree to go to camp. Chauncey Billiups is telling people to not even claim him off waivers. Dude has another year on his contract, he's not supposed to be a free agent until next year but he's dictacting where he's going now?

Look I'm probably one of the most pro players guys here behind probably 24th, but this **** has gotten out of hand with these guys forgetting about playing basketball and trying to skate around actual competition to have million dollar treehouses.

Paul had enough talent around him to make the playoffs 3 times with the Hornets. And he's bitching about where he wants to play? Again...finish your contract.

Right, now he's "bitching." Do you have something against professional athletes?

If Boston made that deal he would have to go or be penalized.

And let's be honest - that celtics package would never pass the basketball reasons test.

First and foremost, I'm not in a court room and not under oath so I don't have to answer your question.

Secondly, since you asked so nicely about me answering here is my answer: Who cares how one feels. It's how you react. If you think about the problem more critically than emotionally then you'd probably get better results. I remember Hakeem Olajuwon back in the early 90's demanding Rockets ownership to trade him. What did they do? They didn't do it. They got down to the bottom of why Olajuwon felt uncomfortable and decided to keep him and improve the team. Four years later, they win a championship. I'm pretty sure the Rockets ownership at the time felt disrespected BUT they had a franchise center and instead of reacting off of 'feelings' they rectified the issue.
