Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
This report by FoxSports seems highly speculative. Nonetheless, the impending free agency of LeBron James in two years is perhaps the most under-reported story in NBA media circles. Maybe this will ramp up that discussion. In any case, click through the article and make your own conclusions on the reporting.
According to Sam Amico from foxsportsohio.com:
Now, there is talk that James is less-than-thrilled with certain aspects of the Heat organization. Sources in Miami say that while James still thoroughly enjoys playing alongside fellow stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, he doesn’t particularly care for the heavy-handed and disciplined style of team president Pat Riley.
James can opt out of his contract at the end of the 2013-14 season, and speculation is he will strongly consider it if Riley remains in his current role. And the team James would be eyeballing most in free agency, say those close to the situation, would be the Cavs.
I honestly do not know what I'd do.
Decision 2014: The Return of the LeBron. Hulkamania returns.
Even if he did come back, I could not root for him like I used to. I'd root for the Cavaliers, but his God like status would be long gone.Too Old To Game Club

We gotta stop calling Minnesota a small market team. They're in the top half of NBA markets. Minny supports multiple pro sports teamsRedsArmy_John RedsArmy
Just because the Timberwolves act like a small market team doesn't actually make them one. We need to bust that mythblazersedge Ben Golliver
Only David Kahn could look at Kevin Love and see uncertainty.HPbasketball Hardwood Paroxysm
This isn't one of those things you look at and say "this will definitely end badly." Rubio could wind up better, Love could regress, etc.
Quite a see-saw.
One downside to the contract lies in the fact that it only gives the Wolves 3 years to be competitive enough to keep K-Love, with the player option for year four. On the other hand, if the Wolves AREN'T competitive in that amount of time, then the whole K-Love thing will stir up questions. Further complicating things, even if the Wolves aren't competitive, the mess may not be K-Loves fault but the roster being flawed, therefore making a locked in 5 year contract worthwhile giving Minny the time to give the roster potentially two different looks with K-Love as a centerpiece, and in an "if all else fails" scenario, be able to send him off with a year or two on his contract, and begin re-structuring in the post Love era.
Not sure I would be comfortable knowing there's three years to convince K-Love to stay, when the FO had the opportunity to keep him in a Wolves uniform for five.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

There aren't enough words to describe how funny that would be if Lebron did leave Miami and went back to Cleveland
But this is the NBA and stranger things have happened soooooo....#RespectTheCultureComment

While it would not surprise me in the least if this was true, I'm just gonna go ahead and say this is not true at all. Look forward to beating the hell out of this horse until it dies, then proceeding to beat it some more though.Comment
