I do actually agree that the Butler thing sounds similar in principle to the JJ Hickson for Amare situation.

      Sorry bout it

Remind me what NJ wants with Gerald again??? And giving up a 1st rounder??? SMH

It's not like Ray Allen is going to suddenly not be able to shoot anymore just cause he's 36.
And championship windows don't stay open that long, no matter how young your team is. As good as it looks, we may think the Bulls will be contending for years to come BUT with the way these players are moving around, you never know what's gonna happen.

Believe me when I tell you that they are already done

So the Bulls don't win the ship with Allen, he retires, then we are then out a pick and a young prospect that fits well in our system. Kewl.

                Sorry, not for me.
What if Allen is the one key that pushes the Bulls to a title? He might sign on for next season and still be an efficient scorer.

IF, BUTS and MAYBES. You have the opportunity to take a legit PROVEN 15+ PPG scorer to help with your team and he won't cause chemistry issues then you take it!

The Russian sure has a funny way of persuasion.

Both teams should slap themselves for that trade

Those apply to Ray Allen as well.

Shawne Williams and Mehmet Okur aren't going to convince any big name FA's to come to the Nets in the offseason and they aren't going to convince Deron to stay. Gerald Wallace isn't really, really going to either, but its better than those two. The first rounder is weird though...
