I dont know man.. he asked for the trade

If he couldnt handle it then he should've taken off, gotten some therapy or something

This is still a professional job and a place where grown men come to work

This is exactly what I'm trying to say. I'm not sure what's so callous about me expecting a guy who gets paid tons of money to play basketball to PLAY BASKETBALL. You can make the tragedy excuse as much as you want but he was dealing with tragedies in LA too and he played just fine.

Considering he left the team during this season and didn't come back after the all-star break when he was expected back, I'm not sure if basketball was his way of getting those things of his mind.

This is gonna be a runaround argument. The only people that are going to really understand where me and Scooby are coming from are Mavs fans. The Mavs organization, fans, players, everyone has been SUPER supportive of Odom. If any other player had've performed at as a low of a level as he was, they would've been benched a lot earlier and probably traded or released but the Mavs stuck with him right up until the end here. He was supposed to be our BIG FREE AGENT signing after Cuban busted up the championship team, he was supposed to lessen some of that blow. He's been the worst of our free agent signings. Vince Carter, Delonte West, Brandan Wright and arguably even Yi have been better this season.

He's not even released, just inactive right?

Im already getting emails from my LA fans friends discussing signing him back

These folks out here are nuts

Even as far as "my brother in law told me its already in the works"

This is why I can't stand this junk. They dont even know what the new rules say.

Im not even saying anything, just reading and shaking my head

Yeah he's just inactive right now. Mavs want to retain the option of buying him out, or trading him after the season.

But people do understand where Mavs Fans are coming from. Just like I don't disagree with you saying guys like Brandon Wright and Yi have been better, even though to be fair, I'm almost certain the team's expectations for them were not as high as they were for Lamar.

The issue is you keep bringing up the money part everytime as if that should solve ALL of his problems, when obviously it doesn't. It's not like he's preventing you from signing any FAs out there so I'm not even sure how it's relevant.

Kinda late for that now, but thats exactly what they're doing for him

I think he shouldve done that from the start though

Yi might be stretching it, but Brandan Wright has been far better and much more of a contributor this year than Odom. Any Mav fan will attest to that.

No, I don't think the money should solve his problems, what I'm saying is if he couldn't perform at a high enough level he should've taken the time off to collect himself, to deal with any demons he might have because that obviously wasn't happening on the court this year.

                        And I agree with that.

I just didn't agree with the "Oh, he's making millions so he should STFU and shove his Tampon back up his *** and play Basketball" part, that's all lol.

I didn't mean for it to come across so harsh like that, I'm probably one of the more sympathetic people to Lamar in the Dallas area, they are people that hate his guts right now.

We are still paying him though, he's still costing us about $8 million. We could've brought someone back from the championship team for that much.
