Calling Bill Simmons a douche because Simmons said he isn't crazy about the Mavericks newest frontcourt additions?

Simmons isn't allowed to criticize moves now? What the hell does that make all of us on OS who criticize whatever about the NBA?

Simmons is a sports writer. That's his job. Analyzing moves? His job. And he entertains as he does it. He's one of the best sports writers in the world. Chris Kaman? He's a seven-footer who, even if he is a decently skilled player, owes his place in the NBA to his height. And he's mad at Simmons for judging his basketball ability? You serious?

In that same sense, athletes aren't allowed to say anything back?

Saying Bill's wrong and/or you're going to prove him wrong? Completely okay. Calling him a douche because he doesn't praise your ability to play basketball? Again, if that's okay, everybody in the forum here is a douche. We all criticize guys' ability to play.

So yeah, Kaman definitely comes off as a douche.

It was a tweet. Sarcastic? Yeah. Malicious? Absolutely not. Simmons commented on Kaman's ability to play basketball relative to the league he plays in. And he's absolutely right in what he's saying, that Kaman and Brand aren't nearly as good as when they played together 7 years ago, when they had little success (one good year).

But yeah, Haywood was bad. Kaman is too. You're not going anywhere with Kaman at center this year.

Apparently if a writer you don't like criticizes a player, or if a writer criticizes a player on your team, he's a douche, but if you criticize a player on a team, that's just fine.

Don't make me pull up post history to prove it, because we can prove anybody on the board to be a douche with a little search function.

Clearly your issues are with Simmons or a guy criticizing YOUR player, not the actual tone or comment. Unless you agree that we're all douches.

Cuban's was funny. Simmons' was funny. Kaman's was, as DHY26 said, salty. Are sports writers supposed to praise every player in the league? Kaman's career hasn't even been close to Brand's, but you don't see him calling Simmons a douche.

I know if Simmons made fun of Juwan Howard, nobody would have an issue with it. So, like I said, lol at the whole thing.

Kaman wasn't salty he simply doesn't have the comedic abilities that Cuban and Simmons do.

I don't get why you would think sports writer's are supposed to praise everyone.. nobody said that at all. It's a human reaction to respond when your name is in someone else's mouth. Once again, from that Tweet, I didn't sense anger or bitterness. Just disagreement and the inability to make a funny comeback via Twitter.

When Kaman wasn't riddled with injuries he was averaged 18.5 PPG and 9 RBG. Since then he's only put up 12 and 7 and 13 and 8 the following seasons, again, because of injuries. That equals 14.6 PPG and 8 RPG over 3 years.

Juwan Howard has been a joke for nearly a decade (Since 04-05). Jokes about him are not jokes, but FACTS.
