Starts in the high schools. If you're 6'9, they want to see you crossover and pull up for 3. Not develop a back to the basket game.
Really? Region I went to high school in- if you were 6'9 you were shooting hook shots, not 3's.

Kenny and Chuck are always laughing at him because he can't seem to grasp that his time is up...it's sad really. I remember on one ITNBA he was rambling about being 'the son of jor-el' and they were just like "Dude, let it go" lol

Was anyone you played against a nationally ranked player.

Isaiah Austin of Baylor who I believe is ranked 3rd in the class of 2012 is like 7'1 and he shoots pull-up 3s.

Shaq was an embarrassment during that ep. He sounded biter for sure and had some major tunnel vision. Reggie would have put him in his place hard if Shaq ever let him finish a sentence.

He said Duhwight reminded him of a Euro-style, pick and pop type of Center or something to that extent while in the same breath saying Brook Lopez reminded him of the old school, back to the basket Centers.

I really doubt he's watched more than 5 games of Lopez if he came to that conclusion about him.

He really does need to let that **** go though. Then he started going about Chuck and the guys holding him accountable when he was fresh in the league. Just stop Shaq. Dwight is an idiot for sure, but please, stop.

Thats one thing that I am personally against. The notion that because a player plays a certain position, he has to play a certain way.

Dirk doesnt bang down low so he's not a true power forward. Howard is not a true center because his game doesnt revolve playing with his back to the basket.

It seems so nitpicky to me. There is only one role that I feel is truly defined and is necessary for a player at a certain position. And that role is for a center to control the glass and be the "anchor" defensively by talking and protecting the rim. Thats it. I don't think you can be a good center without that and Howard excels in those areas.

Sure, Howard being more effective with his back to the basket would be a good thing. But it's not NECESSARY for him to be effective in todays game.

The game was completely different 15 years ago. Most offenses were predicated on getting the ball inside, dumping it down low at every opportunity. It wasnt just from the center or pf either. The other positions got a lot of scoring from posting up as well.

Today's game is more based around pick n roll basketball and there is no better center (I use that term loosely) to have running the pick and roll than Howard. And its not as if he's terrible around the rim. He still requires extra attention in the post to the point where you have to double or foul.

It was really sad. He was bringing up points that made no sense and were not pertinent to what was being asked in regards to Howard.

You can tell he was bitter solely based on how much he kept bringing himself up when talking about Howard.

You don't have to agree but its true

Most of these guys started off at PF and became de facto Centers... Kevin Garnett was never a center... he played PF and some SF. Same with JO, Howard, freaking 6'9 Joel Anthony

It has nothing to do with the skill as much as it does the lack of

Anybody arguing that the NBA hasn't lost the big man it once had isn't watching the same thing I am.

I think Shaq's point is that Dwight isn't the best back to the basket center. Which is a notion I agree with. If we're talking purely about back to the basket I too would take Brook and Bynum
