It would not even shock me if LeBron didn't have a damn clue what that means. There are quite a few people who have no clue what the line means and just repeatedly sing that part of the song. I wish hip hop would just get put out of it's misery already. I can't stand to see something I love so dearly continue to be subjected to the Trinidad James and Plies and Soulja Boys of the world.

I hope that actually happens and it gets recorded.

Some Coach and/or GM should do the samething and let some random fan have their job/responsibilities for the day.

To comment on the last Lakers/Celtics final, in Game 7 alone in the 4th quarter, there was a near 20 shot difference in FTs in favor of the Lakers, when the attempts had been near equal all night long.
Are we talking NBA as a whole or a few isolated refs? If it's the latter then yes, if the NBA then no. I just refuse to go down the path that the NBA FO is rigged, naive or not.

You'd have to specify what you mean by FO.

I don't like going down this road because I know people get very passionate about their officiating being pure and clean, but I don't think it's out of the question to think that in a couple of big playoff series, the fix has been called in to give one team the benefit for the sake of ratings.

That 2002 Finals, back when basketball was struggling for an identity post Jordan, might have been the worst rated ever had the Kings and Nets made it. I don't think it's out of the question to assume, along with the evidence given in those final games that the series was most definitely fixed.

There are other instances as well. Not saying every game, every series, but ones that could have big implications in terms of profit, yes. 2010 is another example.

                      My issue with this is....

Why let things like the 2005 Finals take place?...this series was anticipated (and was) to be lowest rated finals in history. Turned out to be the lowest rating for a major sport championship game...

The MIA/DET ECF was a 7 game series....easily fixable. SA beat PHX 4-1 in 5 tightly contested games determined in the 4th.

That's what I have trouble grasping on this subject.

I've always maintained that if you're going to be good at fixing things, you still have to maintain the illusion that what you're rigging isn't rigged. It's similar to a Vegas casino. The house always wins. However if literally nobody else is winning but the house, nobody is coming to that house to spend they're money. That LA/Sac WCF was so blatantly obvious that it was still very fresh in a lot of people's minds so you gotta lay low on the rigging for a bit. Mighty funny that the following year after that Finals they were like f this and Shaq and D-Wade magically made the Finals and D-Wade single handedly won the Finals from the free throw line.

that's a great point, and it's something I agree with. Also the fact that the 02 WCF is still in everyone's mind a decade later speaks volumes

You don't think that there MIGHT have been a little something going on in the 2006 Finals? Some of the calls Wade got were unbelievable.

Horrendous (to put it lightly) refereeing? Yes. A fix? No.

Honestly, I don't know in what universe this isn't a foul:

But to me personally, I think it's more horrific officiating than anything...
