Well I could definately be wrong but I don't think it goes as far.

No way Carmelo should fall into this. I'am sure he woudn't if he wasn't having such a bad game.

No Carmelo just needs to control his own emotions (which is easier said than done), but that doesn't excuse what Garnett did either.

You don't know what he would've done or said, unless you decide to walk up to Melo's face yourself and say it to him.

Was Lala in the crowd?, that probably made it even worse...lol

As much junk talk as there is in the NBA, I'd bet my paycheck that remarks about wives and kids are rare. You just don't take it there...

At the end of the day, Melo just has to respond better...

He's not technically wrong. I, and in many others eyes though, he went about it the wrong way. he used the WRONG answer to get the CORRECT result.

He just broke a man code, knowing he can get away with breaking it. That ain't cool.

This is no different than a deliberate low blow in boxing just to get your opponent to think about the possibility. Is it smart? Yes. Would you get any respect for doing so? Probably not.

You really think Garnett doesn't use that against the people he's taunting? You think he doesn't say, on the court, "You can't do **** about it either"? Really? Garnett's a smart guy. he knows what he can and can't get away with. That's why he has a reputation as a fake tough guy. Because he puts himself in situations where he doesn't have to actively back it up.

Especially since most of their family members like Mothers, Wives, and kids are there in attendance if it's a home game 99.9% of the time.

And since it's always a home game for at least one team.....

Big difference between talking trash about someone's game and insulting their Wife/Girl/Family.

It must be an environment(where people grew up)thing if people really believe that insulting someone's Wife/Family is no different than insulting that person's game on the court.

You want to say that my game is some trash or that I'm some punk/pitch glass jigga or whatever? Go right ahead.

Insulting my Wife/Girl/Family though? Now, we got problems. That's off limits no matter where your at and there's no way to defend or condone that either. Even your own Boys wouldn't even cross that line, mainly out of respect for you.

Props to KG because he knew he could get away with it though. Doesn't change the perception about him in that he's a bitch for resorting to "sucker" tactics to get away with stuff like this.

I still fail to see where KG insulted his wife.

I'd agree it's borderline but it's not as bad as really insulting his wife with the words you know.

Because you weren't there and you don't know the context of how it was said.

You don't have 20 Uniformed Cops around you if nothing was said LOL. I just don't buy the Honey Nut Cheerios nonsense and think that was just the PG version of what was really said.

Not saying he doesn't say that but I don't think he does that hoping that Carmelo just loses his mind to the point where they fight each other and Melo gets suspended.

I think he just wants to get Melo off his game to make sure he doesn't wake up in the 4th quarter. That's my view on it anyway, you might be right.

Ah, so now the conversation turns to the environment one grew up in.

Because I don't think KG telling Melo his wife tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios is crossing the line within the context of an NBA game, I must not have been raised to respect women. Gotcha.

What should he have to back up?

This isn't the streets. This isn't the hood. Don't understand what's so hard to separate here.

These guys are paid to do whatever it takes to win basketball games. Garnett has been doing this for years. Shame on Melo for reacting like that, and not just firing back at him in the game. The more Melo reacted, the more Garnett was going to lay into him. That's the reaction he wanted, and that's the one he got.

                            Garnett wins.

I'm glad a lot of you didn't play on the courts I grew up playing on. You guys wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes.

Sounded like you were implying something along the lines.

Not when it's in the context of an NBA game. I see no difference between the two.
