"Yeah man, I blew a kid's brains out, but at least I got them J's."
Let's forget about this kid's mother making funeral arrangements on Christmas. SMH. This makes no sense, but this is the world we live in.

And when I say special I mean does it glow in the dark? Does it have a secret layer where you can stash your wallet in?PSN: MajorJosephxComment

Re: Air Jordans Release Day = Violence
Like I said, there is a certain specialness and signficance to the shoes. I think we're going a bit overboard in downplay these specific shoes just to point out how incredibly sad, stupid and ignorant (plus any other negative description we can think of) a lot of people are proving themselves to be over these shoes. Are they special enough to be fighting and killing people and licking them for? Of course not, that's ****ing ridiculous. However those people's stupidity doesn't mean that these aren't a iconic and special shoe.Comment

Re: Air Jordans Release Day = Violence
With all that said, I'd say a very large portion of those seeking the Concords are not or were not doing so just so they could be "original". The reason they're so sought after in the first place is because they're a style many people enjoyed. To put it plainly, I just liked the way they looked.
In terms of your question about what was so special about the shoes in terms of glowing in the dark or having a secret wallet compartment, I'm not sure if that's the idea. There are many products that receive a frenzied release within their respective genres just for being the most well received. It's like asking what's so special about any given Call of Duty game that receives a heavy midnight release. Does the game come with an actual high-powered weapon? Do you get Army boots? Again, that's not the point. With commercial products, sometimes something is just in the right position to receive a lot of attention upon release, most often because a large amount of people like the product.Comment

Re: Air Jordans Release Day = Violence
Okay, I thought you were talking about the design of the shoe not being original cause it definitely was. As for originality if everyone is wearing them...that's a moot point really. I don't think I've EVER in my life not bought an item of clothing because a lot of people have it already. That's like clowning the purchase of a leather coat cause everyone has one. When I've bought Jordans in my lifetime, I've bought them because I like the look of them, because Jordan is my all-time favorite player in the league and by them being something I specifically saved money for that I was never able to have as a kid. I've never not paid a bill in favor of them. I've never skipped out on someone's birthday party or something to keep my money for a pair of shoes and I've never fought anybody over them.

Maybe I'm beating a dead horse. Lol
I'm just saying this shoe ain't worth half the stuff thats happening.PSN: MajorJosephxComment

Re: Air Jordans Release Day = Violence
The shirt with the dude licking the shoe was made before the kid licked it. So nike did not make the shirt after because of the news video.
It's a shame yes but I dont think that it means society is crumbling like some think. People are all ways going to act certain ways, it's just crowd mentality. It's sad but I don't see it changing.
I'm just wondering if its safe for me to go play ball in them yet. Don't want to get robbed. Some people will probley think im crazy, I like wearing them playing. might as well wear them then shove them in the closet( never understood that).
Anybody else playing in them yet?Last edited by Firebird8402; 12-27-2011, 01:34 PM.Comment

It's only my opinion, but make sure you wear ankle braces if you decide to hoop in them. The quality of the J's have went to **** in comparison to the initial releases.Originally posted by J. Im guilty of kissing the bottom.
Humans been acting crazy for material things since cavemen...
Im shock that they are overreacting for THESE...They aren't even the originals....
Like I said earlier, nothing but a bunch of posers(cool to do). More than 50% of the buyers aren't sneakerheads and I can spit that number out with confidence without having data...
BTW, please don't play ball in these...I beg of you.Last edited by Jukeman; 12-27-2011, 01:59 PM.Comment

Re: Air Jordans Release Day = Violence
I think a lot of the lore has to do with their reception within the shoe world. In the shoe world, they were and still are original. When they were first released, they were one of a kind and to this day, many folks still feel they are one of a kind. And while thousands of pairs wore sold, the numbers are all relative. The limited release of these shoes actually ensures that everyone won't be wearing them. If one of my players secured a pair of XI's I could bet they might be the only person in their school with them and one of the few player in their conference rocking them. So for the folks who get off on shoes because they're rare, well, this release is relatively rare.

Its nothing but the typical holiday hot product promo'd by social networks. Since retro jordans are making appearances again in the mainstream, the wannabes come flocking...Last edited by Jukeman; 12-27-2011, 02:13 PM.Comment

Re: Air Jordans Release Day = Violence
Wow, you weren't kidding bout the youtube sneaker heads making out with there shoes.
I'm probley not going to rock the concords to the court though, at least for awhile don't want nobody runnin up on me pissed they didn't get there christmas pair.
I just got to ball in them a few times though before the start yellowing. Maybe they wont with the new icey blue bottom, wishful thinking though...Comment

Re: Air Jordans Release Day = Violence
One trick I found for the yellowing, is to sit them on the inside of your window, exposed to sunlight. Took my EXTREMELY yellowed OG pair, and made them pretty clear again. I'm talking YELLOW/Brown. Now they look practically new. Give it a try if you have a yellowed pair.Twitter - WTF_OS
