Air Jordans Release Day = Violence

"Police used pepper spray on about 20 people at a mall near Seattle, while officers arrested at least four unruly shoppers in suburban Atlanta."

"When two off-duty Tukwila officers, hired by the mall to deal with the shoe’s release at four different stores, arrived at Southcenter at 3 a.m. the crowds were manageable, Murphy said. Within two hours, however, the number of hopeful buyers swelled to nearly 2,000. People there for the shoe release were cutting in line, pushing, fighting, drinking and smoking marijuana, Murphy said."

All of this for $180 shoes

Was at Target last night, at 5 PM mind you, and the mall was already stupid crazy... but I happened to glance across the lot to what looked to be a camp out. There were at least 50 people.... didn't realize what it was for until I got home later in the night and read about how these were coming out. So sad IMO.

"Police also said they had to break a car window to get two toddlers out after a woman went in after the shoes. They said she was taken into custody when she returned to the car."

Getting a chance to buy a basketball shoe is more important than the welfare of her own children.

You got dudes out there willing to hurt others and possibly kill people for some Jordans. It's funny but it's really sad.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of videos later today about dude's knocking each other out cold or killing others.

I heard a UPS Driver out in Wheaton, MD got stabbed while unloading the truck and another person got killed in Forestville trying to get them.

I never get the reasoning for waiting in line for a pair of shoes that don't do nothing to you.

Anybody camping out for shoes really needs to see a shrink. Paying $180 for sneakers in a recession is also just insane.

A lot of the people buying will re-sell for an ungodly amount.... not everyone who camped is going to keep them.

No lie if I camped out for the Concords I'd be selling them back for 450+.
