On the issue of playing in Jordans, I myself have played in 7's 8's and 12's and had a great experience in all 3 pairs my only gripe was with the 8's seeing as they had no ventilation so my socks would end up being soaked rags by the time a game was over.

So at some point I'd really like an explanation on why buying Jordan's from the mall is apparently a bad thing. Seriously. Should we not buy any shoes from the mall like say...Rose or Dwight's shoes? Kobe or LeBron's? Or can we just not buy Jordan's?

I might be a little of topic, but which sneaker would you guys suggest for maximum ankle support (the cheapest ones)? I play in running shoes and my ankles real ****ed up

My personal opinion is go with the crazy 8's. Its a fantastic shoe for someone who has ankle issues and helps alleviate some pressure from your knees. The Material Is very good and it will not break the bank either. Just make sure you break them in before you play or otherwise you can screw up your small toes. I played with them fresh out of the box and my sock looked like Curt Shilling's. I recommend unlacing them stretching out the material, wear them around the house for a bit and then finally play in them.

7's? I sprained my ankle on three separate occasions in those. There's absolutely no ankle support.

I'm speaking for myself as well when I say this, but clearly it can be tough to develop accurate judgments and effectiveness of a given pair of shoes based off of one person's experiences. For instance, I've also played in a pair of VII's and never had any ankle issues to speak of.

That said, the VII's were the only pair of Jordan's I've owned that suffered any sort of material malfunction. From repeatedly using the finger strap on the heel to yank my foot out of the boot without loosening the laces enough, I ripped a small portion of the material by my ankle. It was fixed by a local shoe smith and the shoes went on to live a full life. Right now my friend uses them when he comes up to the gym to play.

Personally, my biggest ankle issues came from a pair of low-top Reebok Questions, which our entire team wore my sophomore year of high school. I sprained the ankle initially, then re-sprained it numerous times over the course of the season. It seems clear to me now that a sprained ankle can happen in any shoe, and the subsequent sprains I suffered were likely due to my unwillingness to allow the ankle to fully strengthen and heal. However, that didn't stop me from thinking Reeboks were the worst. In fact, my displeasure with the low Questions is what drove me to buy the Jordan V's the following year (my first J's). They appeared to be really high on the ankle and I wanted to buy whatever I could to prevent a repeat of the year before.

They look really good on the ankles... but unfortunately they don't sell them in my country, any other model you would suggest?

                        Bump. Another year, more violence.

Couple people in the Houston area were shot over the new J's. One died and the other is in the hospital with "life threatening injuries." I really don't get this man.

They never have enough pairs and they usually sell out by the afternoon. It sucks. I got them online luckily but damn was it a huge pain to get.

It really is sad man. I wanted the shoes, but not that damn bad. It's 2013 (basically) and people are still getting shot for shoes. It's ****ing ridiculous.

This is so senseless. I'm surprised nothing is done to make these more available to people.

The new Air Jordan Retro XIs went on sale. As expected, it was pandemonium. A Fort Worth police officer was forced to use pepper spray after being knocked over by a crowd of 300 to 400 people pushing toward the entrance to Hulen Mall.

“There was like a big riot over here, people got, like, pepper sprayed … it was really crazy. It was, like, chaos. Horrible. You couldn’t go through anywhere. If you go through there, it’d be like pretty much squishing, pushed down on the floor, stepped on. It was really crazy. Over some shoes. It was like a black Friday for shoes,” said Julio Lomeli.

There was also a scary story out of Grayson, Georgia where a high-school freshman, Paul Sampleton Jr., was “bound, shot and left to die” in his kitchen during a robbery. Police have not revealed the motive, but according to the AJC Sampleton was known for collecting and trading Air Jordans and estimated by a friend to have at least 20 pairs.

The Jordans retail for $200, though there are currently pairs going for $400 to $500 on eBay.
