Yeah, Amares one of the best if not THE best finisher through contact in the league.....He's def down to bump down low .....just not so much on the boards and defense lol

It's no coincidence he was so much more efficient before Melo got there....he just doesn't get the same looks...

I have all the respect in the world for Amare, the fact he plays through/ and recovered through that retinal surgery in itself proves he's a warrior to me...

Good points...and it's changed since Tyson got there also. Chandler seems to now be the main PnR guy with Melo and the guards...Amare just waits for the kick out J.

Seems like they are just using him as a jump shooter from 15 to 17 foot and not much else in this offense.

Yeah, and this doesn't maximize their talents at all.....I don't mean to pile on Mike, but I don't think he's going to last long personally...

He's a terrible coach IMO. None of them seem to really know what they are doing. Watch that last play from the Bobcats...they had ONE option only to tie the game, a 3 ball.

Somehow the Knicks managed to get lost in transition and Augustine had a wide, wide open 3 ball to tie it up. He should have made the shot.

That was the ONLY play New York had to defend...they could have let them have the 2, yet somehow the 3 point line was wide open.

Yeah for some reason they decided to double team Boris 40 ft from the basket, leaving Kemba to find DJ wide open. Too bad he missed.

I get the feeling he's pissed off with things...the Knicks offense doesn't involve him at all down the stretch in 4th quarters. He goes to the 3 point line / wing every play while Melo is isolated and Tyson either sets the pick or positions for the ORB.

For a $100 million man, they'd actually be much better off having kept David Lee to play that role.

Amare's stats still look nice, but he's really not a focal part of that offense at all when it matters. He doesn't even seem to try at all on D.

You missed D'Antoni's genius before the season started.

He wants Amare to play a "Stretch 4" where he plays more of a perimeter game and slides out to the 3 point line often.

He wants the ball in Melo's hands.

So instead of using Amare's strengths which is the Pick & Roll..he's turned him into a jump shooter.

It's incredibly stupid and we've been discussing it for awhile in the Knicks Team thread.

Yep. It's awful. Carmelo is the WORST person for a run and gun system. Dude needs the ball at all times and he's not a PG. Impossible for it to work.

Which is why when NY acquired him, it was hard to see the direction they were going, and frankly it still is.

Carmelo is a half court guy and their best player, and the rest of the team is suited to run and gun. One big gender confused teenager out there in NY.

Just to comment on the Bulls. 7-2, waxed the Pistons and have won with no Rip, no Watson and Deng scoring 8 points or less in 3-5 games. Rose's passing and defense look vastly improved and seems to have more control of the game, moreso than when he had to score 30 ppg. He is also making much smarter decisions with the basketball. I'm confident where we are headed. Giving guys a chance to get into a groove scoring who normally wouldn't (Brewer, Noah, Asik). Only going to make us more dangerous when we are back to full strength.
