To be fair, LeBron has been piss poor shooting free throws in the crunch for quite some time now. Long before that Game 6 in fact. That's probably the only thing I agree with Skip Bayless over, he's said that from the start, LeBron is terrified of the free throw line in the crunch.
I was just reading last year before he missed a clutch one in Boston, he was 20-20 in those situations, and has carried a similar number thoughout his career...
The most recent ones remember was when he knocked down 2 with 0.5 seconds left Game 4 in Orlando to send it into OT...
Was there a specific streak where he missed a couple? I dont remember..Comment

Great bunch of games last night.
-I really, really, really wish DeAndre was a Knick.
-Once Kidd is healthy, does anyone see Delonte getting the same minutes? He has played pretty well so far, surprisingly.
-Rondo is just incredible. I'm always amazed to watch him on the court.
-I was happy to see the calls in the Heat game, despite the fact Clipper fans probably felt it was poorly officiated. They got the travel call on Bosh right, went and reviewed two very important plays (that ended up in the Heat's favor but they were the right calls) and seemed on top of everything except the star calls (Billups fouled Wade? Really?)
-Oops, LeBron just traveled again.

Even if Lebron wins a ring, I will still refer to this:

You didn't just say that. Tell me you did not just say that.

It's the truth, even Jordan hasn't dominated in the finals like wade did that year....And yes I'm dead seriousComment

You need to check out Jordan's numbers from his first title run. Or maybe watch it. That might be better.Comment

Jordan averaged 41,8 and 6 during the Finals against Phoenix in '93. Let's pump the brakes on the homerism please.Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Also many(including myself) have given the refs of that series credit for winning the finals, not MIAComment

I'm not allowed to discuss the Finals of 2006. I turn red, grow a set of horns and I hurt innocent people.Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you. Fool me three times, **** the peace sign, load the chopper let it rain on you.

Tim Duncans 24.2 17.0 and 5.3 in the finals was quite gangsta as well...
Oddly enough, ESPN ranks Wades performance #1, and Jordan's PHX series doesn't break top 10. (his 98 Finals is #2) I don't remember the PHX that well @ the moment....I wonder why it isn't higher...Comment

Jordan's numbers and insane play in that Finals run was the best thing I have ever seen. No one will ever come close to touching those numbers. Hell, D-Wade and his parade to the Free Throw line didn't even have him come close.
BTW, apologize Matrix, I know you seeing those stats and series mentioned here is going to bring up bad memories.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Game Discussion Thread 1/9/12 - 1/15/12
It's not fair, but Bigs don't get proper consideration for being clutch, and despite his skill set, Dirk is really a Big. Kareem, Hakeem, Duncan, Dirk, people just don't evaluate them in that way. Also, we're too fixated on the game winning basket. Blocking or altering those game winning shot attempts, boxing out and getting that defensive rebound to seal the win, those vital aspects of winning basketball are simply not recognized as contributing to what makes a player clutch. Thus the clutch contribution of a Big man will always be undervalued.
The hero shots are what gets a label attached to a player, but its not really a sound evaluation of what truly makes a player clutch.Jordan Mychal Lemos
