Wasn't Patrick Ewing kind of in the same situation (besides being in a big market)? Talented player with not-so-good players around him getting bounced in the playoffs.

He did everything he could to help the team advance.

I haven't really followed the Magic in the playoffs as their annual Hawks/Magic series have been pretty boring except for the hard fouls.

But what has Dwight done to put the guys on his back during the playoffs?

Steve Nash has. Dirk has. Durant has.

I've seen it from those guys. I haven't seen it from Dwight.
Dwight does make his teammates better with his presence on the floor on both ends. On offense he gets them space on pick and rolls and if he gets doubled, it can lead to open jumpers for his teammates. On defense he protects the paint and is a solid help defender.

Dwight did put his team on his back when the faced the Cavs in 09, but their hot 3 point shooting had a lot to do with it. Since then though, they have struggled.

Bulls vs celtics... celtics will win by double digits

Heat vs nuggets... no way we have 3 straight games that go to overtime, so we'll win by atleast 5 in the 4th...wade will be the leading scorer

        Dwight's a clown.

I'm talking about elevating your game in the playoffs and leaving it all on the floor.

I've never seen it from him.

Don't forget Rose is a gametime decision but even with him I pick the C's
idk about the whole noah and boozer situation though, Boozer getting benched is understandable but noah is a head scratcher

When a man has a 40-20 game in the playoffs and his team still gets bitch-slapped by 25+ hes has a right to look elsewhere to work. Nobody really gives a damn about loyal losers. You dont make it on any GOAT lists because you stuck out with a mediocre team and never won anything. If your legacy really matters you then you understand winning is pretty much everything. So you do what you have to do to make that happen. A lot of folks hate KB, call him selfish, at one point he was even thought to be a cancer. But he has 5 rings to go along with a host of other accomplishments. He also happens to be at least top 8-10 All-Time. When he was at the crossroads after Shaq's departure he was willing to step on toes and force the action to win. Thats what it takes. MJ has a statue outside of the United Center. Where's Pat Ewing's statue oustide of MSG? Why doesn't he have one?

Two of my favorites in the league. Rose will have the better game and his team will have more points at the end of the game.

This has nothing to do with KB because was able to do it without a stellar supporting cast. Dwyane Wade was able to do it without a stellar supporting cast.

Maybe Dwight needs to look in the mirror and realize he just doesn't have that will to win. Barkley did and he never won a chip. It's always easier to blame your teammates and management.

                          The statue stuff is irrelevant.

I'll take this stuff to the Dwight thread if you want to continue..

Only difference is you know Dwight's supporting cast isn't anything to write home about. Honestly the talent gap between Dwight and the 2nd best Magic player might be the biggest compared to any other super star in the league. Not to mention the whole lack of defense thing from most of the Magic players.

He wants to buddy up in a major market too because he feels left out. Bottom line. Any other reason is completely false.

If the Magic were winning championships it would've been different.
Major markets are an incentive to leave.
