    Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion

Anthony Davis is just wow so far in college, best college defender I have seen in a long time.

PF Thomas Robinson from Kansas is really starting to climb the draft boards, really good rebounder.

I love the possibilities for the Hornets in this draft, looking more like a top 5 pick and i'd love Davis/Drummond/Robinson then throw in a late lottery pick from Minnesota possibly

My Pistons dream would be Anthony Davis, him paired with Monroe would be perfect, but that would require a little lottery magic. Maybe if he land behind a team like Charlotte (who I think would go Drummond over Davis), then we could pick him. I have a feeling Detroit will end up picking around 8 and ending up with Henson.

Aside from the usual overseas prospects that enter the Draft every year, what prospects are coming out this year or are reported to come out because I keep hearing/reading everywhere that this is supposedly going to be a deep draft loaded with good-great talent?

I'm not 100% sure who's coming/going, but the possibilities are guys like:

          Anthony Davis
          Harrison Barnes
          Thomas Robinson
          Andre Drummond
          Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
          Jeremy Lamb
          Jared Sullinger
          Austin Rivers
          Kendall Marshall
          John Henson
          Tyler Zeller
          Terrence Jones
          Perry Jones
          etc.

Honestly if you go to NBAdraft.net or draftexpress.com...

All of those names in the 2012 and 2013 first round mock drafts have the chance to be rotation players.

It's exciting, haven't had it like this in a long long time.

Hopefully with that NBA contract, Anthony can find someone to wax that unibrow lol

As already stated, he is definitely the most impressive defensive prospect that I've seen in a long time, coupled with his ball handling ability and his shooting stroke (still needs work), I feel like he has the ability to be Chris Bosh 2.0, if he progresses the way I think he should.

If he can bulk up similar to the way Dwight did out of high school, then look out.

I see him more as a hybrid between Garnett and Camby.

Yeah, I could see that too, probably a more appropriate comparison given his ability on the defensive end.

I was just looking at his offensive skills and where he could take them, when I compared him to Bosh.

As a whole, I agree, I see him resembling those 2 you listed.

He's just so good defensively which is why I thought about those guys first. He'll be a beast as soon as he gets stronger and develops an offensive game. I think that kid is going to be a stud.

Yea . Before all of this though, he definitely needs to gain some weight.

Or ALL of the PF's and C's will just push him around.

Already been looking there and I still don't see how this Draft is supposed to be so special compared to year's past.

Outside of 2-3 players, the Draft is for the most part always filled with rotation type players so how is it any different this year than previous years?

I think the caliber is better though, or at least the "potential" to be is better in the next few years....

As ex stated, the number of potential player is what really drives this draft. Obviously, for most of these players to succeed, they have to get on board with the right coach and placed in the right system. I don’t think there are any “Can’t Miss” superstars BUT this draft has the potential to be solid gold or just a total waste.

This draft could be more along the lines of the 1996 draft. A deep draft of ‘high ceiling’ guys but very few to no ‘Can’t Miss’ players. Guys like Allen Iverson, Stephon Marbury, Ray Allen, Marcus Camby, Kobe Bryant, Jermaine O’Neal and Steve Nash. Now what I could remember was that the guys that got a lot of hype from this draft was Iverson, Camby and Marbury. Allen got some love as well but not like the previous three. Antonie Walker also got some hype. Allen however was the only one who is a potential hall of fame lock. Iverson, maybe…but not anytime soon. The other hall of fame locks in this draft is Kobe and Nash. Kobe was a huge question mark because teams were still trying to get use to high school players. Nash was skinny and was questioned on how he could endure an NBA season with his weight.

I think I'm officially on the Cody Zeller for the Cavs pick bandwagon. He's exactly the type of Center the Cavs need with Thompson.
