    Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion

I will be on after the lottery tonight when the Brooklyn Nets win the 1st pick, because I know they will rig this. I never have believed in the lottery as a legitimate process.

The league will hope Brooklyn trades the 1st and a quality piece (Lopez or Brooks) to the Magic for Dwight...

This will make the entire conference better and the bigger and established markets profitable. Brooklyn with Dwight, Deron, and Gerald Wallace (if he can resign) will probably be good enough for a 5th or 6th seed. And the Magic with Davis, Anderson, (Lopez or Brooks) and the remainder of the team will keep the Magic in the hunt for 7th or 8th spot.

All I know is as a Blazer fan, I never trusted that Top 3 protected pick from the Nets... I guess we'll see what happens.

      Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion

As a fan of the Bobcats, I almost want us to get the 2nd overall pick. MKG will be a fantastic leader and player. Put him and his effort and heart next to Kemba Walker and Biyombo, I think that it would go a long way. The same could be said if we fall to 3rd, and pick up Thomas Robinson. I'd also love to see us gamble (Not really a risk) on Draymond Green. So he's 6'6"? So he's a bit slow? Draymond is the most versatile guy at his position in this draft. He's also a strong leader.

Would either of these line-ups be worse than what they have now?

      PG - Kemba Walker
      SG - MKG
      SF - Draymond Green
      PF - DJ White?
      C - Biyombo

      or

      PG - Kemba Walker
      SG - Gerald Henderson
      SF - Draymond Green
      PF - Thomas Robinson
      c - Biyombo

        MKG's workout:
        <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-0U9qRFbldw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

He has a slow release, almost looks like he's releasing on his way down. But he's hitting them.

Also, how much stock are you guys putting in Anthony Davis's guard ability? I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here but there's just some things about him that rub me funny, especially the KG comparisons. Pretty much any lanky, athletic forward since 2000 has drawn Kevin Garnett comparisons (i.e. Tyrus Thomas). But I saw Davis rarely create off of the dribble, an in all honesty, these days you can find highlight vids of big men handling the rock on the break and throwing no look passes in high school, pretending to be Magic Johnson. Just check out Perry Jones and Andre Drummond.

He's hitting High-School range 3 pointers with a slow release. Bad sign IMO. With the pace of an NBA game and length of defenders...those shots won't go down. That being said...none of it will affect his draft status as a top 5 player.

I've accepted the fact that we're going to have the 11th pick only this season. That said, protected picks need to go away. They are the reason for most of the tanking (I'm looking at you Golden State)

Davis would actually be a good look for the Pistons. Davis, Monroe and Knight would make for a great nucleus.

Lol at this discussion on ESPN about who they think will win the lottery.

Jon Barry: "I'm gonna say the Hornets. Don't know why. Just cause."
