Why? Curry is the one FA who has a legitimate chance of signing with us in a few years anyways. Plus, he is often injured, why trade a lottery pick and not get one back?Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
I'm now hoping that the Blazers take a chance on Drummond with the sixth pick. Why not? Drummond, Perry Jones, and Anthony Davis are the only players with superstar potential. I understand that the bust potential is high with Jones and Drummond due to their "lack of competitive fire", but I say give it a chance.
I still see Drummond's floor as Deandre Jordan, which isn't amazing, but I'd take that in a crapshoot of other prospects. His ceiling is extraordinary, some combination of Dwight Howard and Al Horford. I certainly want someone like that instead of Damian Lillard, who, in my opinion, has just as much bust potential (as a true point guard, not necessarily as a sixth man/scorer off the bench).Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Andre Drummond's floor is Eddy Curry or not in the NBA in 5-6 years.
The odds of him even getting close to his potential imo is very low unless he decides he wants to actually play like a big manSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Some rumors have us trying to get the 2nd pick without trading our 4th pick, which I doubt happens. But if it does, could you imagine us getting Beal and or Barnes/MKG or Drummond? We could either solidify our backcourt or a big to play alongside TT.Comment

Re: Drummond, and JC is usually very complimentary of his players.
"The coach that gets Andre is going to need to be patient," Calhoun said. "He's getting one heck of a piece of clay. It's going to take time for him to develop; it may take five years, but you're going to have something awfully special when he does develop. And Andre's a great, great kid; he wants to learn. You'd rather have a kid that doesn't have all the answers than a kid that thinks he has all the answers.""You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
there are rumors that the bulls may be trying to trade deng to get into the lottery.
If we can't get into the top 6 though, I would rather just not trade at all. MKG, Barnes, and Beal will all be gone before 6, and then after that I don't think anyone in the draft would be better than just keeping deng.
If there were to be a trade, it would probably be Deng or Noah to Sacramento at #5Chicago Bulls

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
I wouldn't in the least bit be shocked to see Harrison Barnes go second to the Bobcats.
Toronto has Valanciunas coming to the franchise next year, they'll go for a SG either Jeremy Lamb or Austin Rivers and if not Rivers he'll likely end up in New Orleans.
I think Orlando will take Jared Sullinger, been predicting this for years.
Minnesota might end up trading Beasley for another second round pick.death to mollyComment

If Harrison Barnes slips a bit past the top 4 I'd be curious to see if the Hornets try to make a move for him with the need for a starting 3 now if Aminu doesn't pan out, but don't think they've looked at him much.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Sports Legion, which has broken several stories lately, tweeted Sunday that the Nets and Lakers are interested in acquiring one of the Rockets picks at #14 and #16 on Draft Night. Later in a follow-up, four other teams were added to the mix.
"Rockets will not use both of their first-round picks in the draft (#14, #16)," according to the first tweet. "Houston is looking to trade down (Nets, Lakers interested)." The follow-up added, "Cavs, Pistons, Nets, Blazers, Jazz & Lakers interested in trading up to pick #16 (owned by the Rockets, who put the pick on the trade block)."
The Nets of course don't have a first rounder to "trade down" to, but they do have one advantage. The hold the Rockets' first rounder, lottery protected (1-14) through 2016. That means the pick rolls over each year through 2016 unless Houston makes the playoffs. If the Nets were willing to offer the return of that pick as part of a package, it would give the Rockets increased flexibility in using picks in other deals.#RespectTheCultureComment
