I see both sides of the argument and it would be quite remarkable to not at least make the ECF with that roster.

Re: NBA 2011-2012 MVP Thread
Mike Brown took the Cavs as good or as bad as they were as far as he could, and he was let go afterwards. He probably stayed a year too long, and it resulted in a meltdown huh?
That's the point im making, these guys' windows arent that long, so it's prudent not to waste time with a guy who can't get them over the hump
That said, no its not all on the coaches, but I guarantee you a guy like Doc would get way more out of this Miami team than Spo is on motivation alone
This dude says stuff like "we have to get multiple stops in a row"
.... what kind of coaching is that?Comment

Re: NBA 2011-2012 MVP Thread
What does that mean?
Tons of coaches have made the finals and didnt win
Its not like he's a genius coach who is in desperate demand
Mike Brown made the finals and he was let go wasn't he?
Point is, everyone has a limitation and its looking right now like he has taken the players as far as he can. If you sit there and watch what he does you can see his coaching strategy in disarray when really challenged, unless one of his guys are in hero mode.
I posted some of the stuff he was telling the team when they lost a game last week.
Just wasn't working
Trying to act like Spo would be fired a year removed from taking them to the finals is ridiculous.Comment

LeBron is playing mediocre by his standards since his head injury, and if Miami keeps losing, LeBron put up "poorer" performances, and OKC keeps playing, and KD keeps up his stellar play, now It's KD's turn to run away with it.Canucks | Packers | Blue Jays | Lakers | Raptors

Re: NBA 2011-2012 MVP Thread
Solid read right here (after the weird premise):
Handicapping the NBA MVP race
That brings us to our current lockout-shortened season. Who are the MVP candidates, who's going to win, and what should his trophy look like?
Unlike the '99 calamity, our marquee players actually showed up in shape this time around … well, except for you, Carmelo. The quality of play has exceeded everyone's expectations. We don't have a quote-unquote dominant team, but there are three semi-ringers (Oklahoma City, Miami and Chicago), a genuine sleeper (Memphis) and six flawed contenders lurking in the background for different reasons (the Lakers, Spurs, Mavericks, Clippers, Celtics and Magic). Heading into the All-Star break, LeBron's third trophy looked like a bigger lock than The Artist winning "Best Picture" — despite a condensed schedule, the King drifted into MJ territory statistically (27-8-7, 55/41/77 shooting splits and a potentially historic 33 PER) and submitted one of the best two-way, day-after-day, ***-kicking performances we have ever seen.
You know what happened next: The King tailed off in March. So did his team. At the same time, Oklahoma City started coming on like a freight train — at least until Memphis tagged them with an uppercut Monday night — and now, suddenly, we have ourselves the semblance of a halfhearted MVP race!Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Wouldn't be surprised, they had him picked to win since the beginning of the season. LeBron has made it interesting though, and rightfully so.
We will definitely see. I think it's close.Comment

Re: NBA 2011-2012 MVP Thread
I think LeBron deserves the MVP,but I have a feeling they are going to give it to KD because he hasn't won yet and is one of the top 3 players in the league."My body could stand the crutches but my mind couldn't stand the sideline"- Michael JordanComment
