Sound Off: Are the Spurs Destined to Win It All?

The Spurs are now 8-0 in the playoffs and haven't lost since April 11. With what appears to be a matchup with OKC looming for the conference finals, do you think the Spurs are destined to win the title in 2012? If not, who do you have?

They were my favorites before the Playoffs and most certainly are now. Don't know about destined, but they do have the best chance as of now.

I think they're gonna win it all barring injury to one of the big three.

They've got the best coach, a top 8 all time player, a great point guard and shooting guard, and a good bench.

I think they're heavily favored at least.

The Spurs remind me of the Mavs from last year. A group of veterans who play very well together.

Destined is such a strong word choice.

When I think destined, I think Flu Game Jordan. Big Shot Horry, Tayshaun running down Reggie Miller and blocking his shot. Stuff like that makes you think a team was destined to win it all.

It would be easier for them if Ginobili was still Ginobili. He's not the explosive/dangerous-3tp-shooter he used to be. But that's the beauty about the Spurs: they play a GREAT team basketball. I just love their ball movement. I don't know how anyone who likes basketball wouldn't like to watch this team (unless they have beaten your team in the past ans you're still hurting).

I'm still concerned about their defense (17th in the league) and wonder how they can do when they're not able to score 100 points, especially against an explosive team like OKC or a full strength Miami.

Their offense is obviously #1, just hope that they can play at least somewhat good D in future matchups. They did hold the Clips in the 80s a couple times, so thats good.

I believe OKC will defeat San Antonio. and if not then Boston (assuming they get to the Finals) are fully capable of defeating San Antonio. Rondo would cause HUGE match up problems for Tony Parker....as will Russell Westbrook.

The real question should be: Are the Spurs going to lose a game at all?

That Kawhi Leonard and KD matchup should be nice to see from a defensive perspective.

We can score with anyone....and Parker is going to cause problems for any team left in the playoffs...so is our depth...

Defense is definitely a concern...were solid, disciplined....but we're not the '05 Spurs anymore...

One thing I do know is Pop will have us prepared for anything...and I know this team of vets know that this could be THE last push..

                        We're ready.

My gut tells me they don't get past OKC, but I've been wrong pretty much all playoffs long, so who knows. All I know is OKC has Kevin Durant, and that dude is a bad man. It's going to be a good series.

They'll have to get past KD35 to do so.

I keep hearing about these "HUGE" match-up issues that favor teams against San Antonio, but what about the fact that the Spurs are loaded and there isn't a defense in the NBA that matches up favorably with them? There are certainly more mismatches that favor the Spurs than work against them.

Of course Rondo and Russ would be huge problems--they are for everyone. TP dropped 42 & 9 and 25 & 7 the last two times he was matched up with Russ.
