Its not like the Jazz and Clippers were much better. Both teams had pretty easy routes to the WCF.

I also love how ESPN didn't even acknowledge how good the Spurs were until they suddenly took over 1st place in the Western Conference. Its like they said "Oh, I guess we HAVE to talk about them now".

It is definitely a different style of Spurs basketball. They're not as focused on dumping it down to Timmy anymore. While he is still featured, he's obviously not the same player he was 8-10 years back. That was the reason why the Spurs looked slow in he past.

Duncan was a freaking beast back then and he HAD to touch the rock. Now that he's not that player anymore, TP and the younger guys are getting the ball up the court and looking to attack early. This is nowhere near how Spurs teams of the past looked. That is highly evident to me, at least.

This is true no doubt. Just alot of chitter chatter about how OKC went through Dallas and LA. Seems irrelevant to me considering where both those teams are currently.

It's pretty stupid. It's like being the Timberwolves (prior to Love/Rubio) only minus the suck.

Anybody else remember when Durant was beasting early in his career and the national media basically ignored him?

Where did I say he has to take it THAT far?

I've mentioned it plenty of times on here before on how I HATE when Kobe does that and how it doesnt help the Lakers.

All I said was that he needs a "little" Kobe in him. A majority of the time, he doesnt even seem to care that he isnt getting the rock, despite being the teams best player. A lot of trips down the floor he would just stand out past the arc, just like any ol' role player, and wait for Westbrook or Harden to do something. He hasnt been assertive enough in trying to make anything happen for his team offensively at the end of games.

I want to see him fighting to get to his spots, coming to the ball, getting on Westbrook when he makes a boneheaded play. You have the opportunity to go to the finals, and you're going to take a backseat to two other players on the team?

Harden felt it was enough, getting outplayed all over the court.

                    .

Its not an exxaggeration though, and this is the same old conversation we had last year in the playoffs.

Forcing a player to into taking more shots wasn't going to win them this game, let alone telling him to be like someone else who has an entirely different motive on the court, along with the team dynamic being much different, I happen to think thats the wrong approach.

This is no different than Game 1, where OKC had the lead. I knew they'd lose it by close to the end of the 3rd and told my brother... watch SA come back and take the lead, because OKC never really had momentum, then Gino comes in and wrecks their train to the point Brooks panicked and tried to go small.

...and im sorry, KD will score regardless, and if Brooks thinks he should shoot even more he needs to revamp his offensive schemes, and have a talk with WB since he's the 1st extension of his coach.

Its no reason for KD to jack up shots that arent really there`and frankly the Spurs are just showing to be a more consistent and better team who are winning with a variety of different things. Assigning blame to one thing here is hardly the thing to do, even though it might be the most popular.

                    Just give the Spurs credit

This is where Coaching and making adjustments are supposed to come into play, especially since what you're describing has been going on for a while now.

Ideally you'd want Durant to take more than 3-4 shots a quarter, but if James Harden is hot hand(like he was last night)then why take the ball out of his hands?

The last thing Durant needs to do right now is take or borrow anything from Kobe or Lebron or anybody else. What they need to do is stop getting themselves in situations where you have cases like last night happening, in that they start playing Panic Iso-Ball, where you're basically just rushing your possession each time you have the ball.

They might just do that. Nobody can stop them if they continue playing like that. 20 wins in a row. That's a lot of momentum and confidence.

Their last loss is versus the lakers when they where shooting terribly bad?

Scotty needs to get his head out of his butt and figure out that keeping Serge on the bench in game 1, and keeping Thabo on the bench in game 2 went a long way in sealing their fates. Credit due to the Spurs, they played out of their minds and have been all playoffs long, but Scotty isn't doing his team any favors by keeping the wrong players locked to the pine.

In game 1 Serge could have been used to protect the rim in the 4th quarter and in game 2 Thabo was definitely needed for defensive rebounding and defense. Fisher repeatedly fouled his man and also was routinely outrebounded by bigger guards. I could understand if Fisher was hot, but he seriously missed like 15 shots in a row. He provided absolutely nothing.

Once gain though, credit to the Spurs.

So I guess that means the East was all bye weeks for Miami and Boston then.

Dallas played OKC tough all 4 games, it was a lot closer than it appears on paper

Clippers played SA tough, unfortunately the injuries were too much to overcome. LAC built big leagues in multiple games against the Spurs.. the Spurs are just too deep

LAL could have easily been up 3-1 on OKC, but Kobe and company like choking away 4th quarter leads

To say SA and OKC had easy roads is just wrong

I'm sure the Thunder will bust out a 10-15 point lead early in this game feeding off the crowds energy. Hopefully we respond.

I think Pop is more comfortable with small ball....I'm not too worried about Brooks adjustment....but their small ball may be better than ours lol
