Dirk is definitely a top player in the league... Kevin Love's empty stats led his team to nowhere
Top player, yes -- Top 5... well, I know you're not trying to say that so I'll leave it alone

For career, Dirk is probably third behind Kobe and Duncan.
Then where is LeBron for career? Doesn't he have any many MVPs as all of them combined? lol

To me, if LeBron wins just one ring, that 's all he needs. He will be top 5 of all time. The man is just the complete basketball player, and he's only 27.

Top 5 all time after 1 ring?!?! You're saying that would put him above over half of these people:

          1. Jordan
          2. Kareem
          3. Larry Bird
          4. Magic
          5. Kobe
          6. Wilt
          7. Shaq
          8. Tim Duncan
          9. Oscar Robertson
          10. Jerry West
          11. Hakeem Olajuwon

No way he's top 5 all time. I just can't see it. I would have to see you make a list of your top 5 right now. If LeBron wins one ring, he's still the 4th most accomplished player of his time, with Kobe, Shaq, and Tim Duncan ahead of him.

It was hard watching Kobe play this season. He became such a chucker, but I guess he had no choice. I figured by now he'd change his game like mj did when he got older tho... Not sure when he's gonna do that

Man, you can't use the ring argument when discussing greatness, it just doesn't work. I'd have John Stockton, Lenny Wilkens, or Pistol Pete run my offense over Derrick Fisher anyday of the week. Robert Horry has nothing on George Gervin -- he was ICE COLD! Lets not forget about Elgin Baylor -- man, Baylor is EASILY a top 10 player IN THE HISTORY of the NBA. And he doesn't have a ring or a MVP award.

I don't think Lebron deserves to be mentioned in the Top 5 players of all time right now but if he wins one ring by the time he hangs them up (and he produces at this rate) he'll probably be Top 3 of all time. Just my opinion, the guy can do it all. Score, pass, rebound, and defend -- that is just amazing to me.

I only assume your post is alluding to them having more rings than Lebron. If its not, my bad.

And I'll leave on this -- START GIVING BAYLOR SOME LOVE!!!!

He already has, and has been pretty much a jump shooter for a few years now. Kobe isn't too far from Jordan on the Wizards at this point... and he was pretty much a chucker.

You just wrote a paragraph on how rings shouldn't matter and then said James is top 3 with a ring, lol.

You can't bring up Fisher, Horry and the like in this discussion. The introduction of rings here is to separate the best of the best so it's not an end all, be all but it carries some weight. I think your point about Baylor is 100% correct in this regard though.

My post wasn't about rings. It was because someone said that if LeBron had a ring, he would automatically be top 5 all time. I don't think LeBron with one ring is any better than any of the players I mentioned. And I also don't think Baylor is top 5 or 10 either. Who on my list would you put Baylor over? And I left Bill Russell off of my list as well.
