There were only 2 real questionable ones; griffin and westbrook.

But I felt they were the two best this season of the "pool" of other candidates:

    Griffin
    Westbrook
    Deron Williams
    Dirk
    Carmelo
Repleace Griffin and Westbrook with Deron Williams and Rajon Rondo. Rondo is a better passer, rebounder, defender, and can score just as well as Westbrook. The only thing Westbrook has over him is his shooting.

What in the hell? In what world is Rondo as good a scorer as Westbrook?

Rondo is no where near as good a scorer as Westbrook

Kobe Bryant is in the Top 5, just hear me out on this one. This past season he was 33 years old and playing in his 16th year in the league. Not to mention the fact that it looked like the end was near vs the mavericks a season ago. despite this he still put up 28 points 5.4 rebounds and 4.6 Assists regardless of shooting percentage those numbers are pretty impressive for a 16th year vet. By no means am I saying that he is the best in the NBA but I believe he still deserves a spot in the Top 5. Right Now the list (in my mind) is

          1. Lebron
          2. Durant
          3. CP3
          4. (Healthy) Wade
          5. Kobe

However that is my opinion. everyone is entitled to their own

I'm surprised Kevin Love gets NO LOVE! 26ppg and 13rpg? He does his thing.

The OP said this moment not this year

If this year then Rose wouldnt even be in the discussion from injury

Dirk is definitely a top player in the league... Kevin Love's empty stats led his team to nowhere

                      To me this moment=this year.

For career, Dirk is probably third behind Kobe and Duncan.

After watching Kobe play this entire season and seeing him shoot his Lakers out of the playoffs, I just can't do it. His game was incredibly ineffective and inefficient this year and his stock really took a hit in my mind.

The question is this - if you could pick any ONE player in the league at 100% health to play for your team during the 2012-2013 season, who would you choose?

My top 5 picks would have to go:
                        1. LeBron James
                        2. Kevin Durant
                        3. Derrick Rose
                        4. Dwight Howard
                        5. a tossup between Dwyane Wade/Chris Paul/Russell Westbrook

What's OS's opinion on this? Who would you pick? Am I "out of line" for not choosing Kobe?
No your not out of line for not picking Kobe, that"s your opinion. Now IMO what"s out of line is this thread, and the other two to three like it that are sure to pop up before next season.

If these guys you put ahead of Kobe are 100% healthy?, does that mean that Kobe is 100% healthy also?

If that"s the case I would put it this way .............
                        1.James -
                        2.Kobe -
                        3.Durant -
                        4.Dirk
                        5.D.Wade

Maybe I'm thinking pain free. In a pain free world, where these players could play balls to wall every game... I'd switch Kobe with LeBron, but hay I am a little biased I guess.

P.S I'm not attacking you, I'm just stating my opinion. Tired of seeing these type of threads through the years.

Just because his points come inside the paint doesn't mean he can't score just as well. Westbrook averages 21 points as the second scoring option and Rondo averages 17 as a pass first point guard. He's just as capable of scoring and can hit a few jumpers on occasion. Even if you disagree, you can't deny Rondo is a better all-around player.

Being able to score as many points does not mean he's as good a scorer to me. If Westbrook is a better finisher, jump shooter, and free throw shooter, Rondo isn't as good at scoring. And ask Westbrook, he could score many more points if he were the number 1 option.

But as far as all around, that's tough for me. Westbrook is the far better scorer, Rondo is the far better passer. Defense as a point guard is over rated to me. And then there's the fact that with Westbrook's skill set, size, and explosiveness, he could play the 2 (which he is naturally). So, I honestly believe they're pretty even, but I could see an argument made either way.
