The moment Durant steppedd off the court Westbrook tried to take over...but made it worse. That's why he was taken out.

Harden couldn't make anything though, so that's the lasting impression people had I guess.
Yeah. It was like 5 straight possessions. They looked helter-skelter. And they blew the lead.

Brooks even acknowleged it with the media.

Maybe sat him a little too long but he was right for pulling him.

Yes, I consider being able to shoot from mid-range a part of being a great shooter. If you can't shoot from mid-range you're nothing other than a specialist and you can be run off the 3 point line fairly often, if not everytime, unless you get an off-ball screen.

If you can shoot from mid-range that means the defense has to pick their poison, especially with someone as tall and as long (No homo) as Durant. Do they close out hard, giving him enough space for a two dribble pullup? Or do they close out with less urgency, but still enough room to get a clean look off?

That's what is so scary about Durant. If you don't contest hard he'll simply shoot over you. If you contest too hard he'll get just enough room to shoot a relatively wide open mid-range jumper, where he hardly ever misses.
There's still plenty of guys that are better shooters from mid-range than Durant though. And I don't think his mid-range game has anything to do with the kid that said shooting an unguarded 3 pointer is a bad shot for Westbrook but it would be great for Durant, which is why I pointed out that Durant is not the best shooter in the league either.

I'd like you to name a couple of guys that shoot better from mid-range than Kevin Durant if you don't mind ?

While that may be true....Westbrook is Wade level bad from the 3. It doesn't have a high percentage of going in anyway as the 3's they likely get are wide open...

Durant shot damn near 40% from 3 (It was 38.7) this season. This post-season he's shot 37.9%

Westbrook has shot 31.6% from 3 this season. He's shot 32.1% from 3 this post-season. He's not Wade bad, but he's damn near close.

I can't take when people get mad at refs. I don't think it's hard to say that The Heat were the better team tonight.

Steve Nash is the first that comes to mind. If we're going percentage wise, Jose Calderon and Luke Ridnour shoot a better percentage I believe. CP3. Kobe's up there too.

But again, the point was that Westbrook had a completely unguarded 3 point attempt. There was literally nobody there, and he's stepped up and hit big shots all year. There's no way you can argue that that was a bad shot, especially with the way Durant was just fading away from the ball and wasn't trying to get open.

Eh. I'll give you Nash. I'm dismissing Calderon and Ridnour because,<iframe style="border: 2px inset; width: 540px; height: 200px;" tabindex="1" id="vB_Editor_001_iframe"></iframe>although they may be efficient at it, they aren't doing it at the same production (same volume of shots) like a Kobe or KD. You get what I'm saying?

Also, I never said it was a bad shot but, I'd rather have Durant shoot it rather than Westbrook (assuming of course Durant is wide open). As a defense, I'd force Westbrook to take that shot every time and prove to me he can make 3's. Statistics show...he doesn't make them that often, so I'd imagine a defense would live with a wide open Westbrook 3 than leaving KD open.

You get the point I'm trying to make?

As bad as Harden played....He had 6 of those Assists.

Edit: OKC had 11 assists. http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=320617014

Still not good. Westbrook had 4, Harden 6, and Thabo had 1.

Anyone who doesn't like flopping should not be complaining about the Harden blocking foul call. A great way to get rid of flopping is to penalize people for doing so. You want to fool the refs? Joke's on you. Play ball.

They shouldn't penalize floppers by calling equally stupid fouls as the ones they're trying to get. They should just swallow the whistle and let the rest of the guys play.

Yeah I get it. I don't think my original post was directed towards you. I think it was that ink guy that said Durant is the best shooter in the league.

But Westbrook has made that shot a lot of the times and that was an amazingly good look, especially considering the time and situation. When you're a scorer, you can't hesitate to shoot that shot.
