Care to list some examples of this with the Yankees? The Yankees have to overpay for everyone.

lol, no man, I'm not going to go research that for this thread. I'm very certain you understood my point and only asked the question b/c you're a fan of one of the teams mentioned.

As far as I know, the only team that I recall the Patriots bending over are the Raiders, who apparently don't mind it.

Still not seeing the similarites between the two though.

Partly that and partly because this is just not true in the case you mentioned.

Regardless, it was done as a favor to Steve Nash, so if there is anyone to blame it is the Suns for honoring their promise, or Steve Nash for choosing the Lakers.

In that sense I agree, but it's still tough to see. I guess that's the basketball fan in me. I know the players don't give a crap, so why should I huh?

Also, regardless of the deal, it doesn't make the Heat all that much better, especially at this point in Ray's career and spot up shooters wasn't a real need for them.

Boston still has had a good off season. Main thing for them was getting guys healthy. Getting Terry was an added bonus. Bradley will be at full strength and getting Green back gives them nice length on the perimeter. Fully expect them to be right back in the thick of things next year.

Paul Pierce went through the same thing, I think it was more his relationship with Rondo the reason he left. Not the trade rumors.

Unless he's injured, there is no way, shape or form this isn't an upgrade for the Heat...

It doesn't guarantee a ring or anything, but it's a quality pick up...they should still seek out Lewis and Camby if they can...

Probably a little of both....there's trade rumors, then there's your name constantly dangled at the deadline....then there's you actually being informed that you've been traded lol...I don't remember PP going through that. Either way, it's not like he moped his way out of Boston because of it or asked for a trade...

It definitely is an upgrade over James Jones, but at this stage, he's not going to change the dynamic of that team. He is what he is now. Spot up shooter. The Heat have a few of those already. If healthy, is he better than those other guys? Of course, mainly because he's just a better shooter period. Heat still need front court help though. Getting Allen was just some icing on the cake for them.

They just went to back-to-back NBA Finals, destroying the favored Thunder in a five game series. How much icing do you honestly think Ray Allen has to provide, for them to get back there again?

James Jones was garbage in the regular season, shooting a whopping 38%, 40% from deep. Shane Battier was even worse during the regular season. Ray Allen started 42 games, and still shot a consistent 45%. All Ray Allen has to do is get healthy, and you'll be seeing the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals yet again - with or without the walking zombie, Marcus Camby. You think Chicago is going to stop them? LoL.
