Strongly disagree, they can do better than whatever spare parts Phoenix can give them.

They will absolutely match. You don't give away your best player because his heart is in Phoenix.

Just because Orlando has handled the Dwight saga horribly doesn't mean New Orleans has to give away their star for nothing.

He's a RFA, I'm sure there have been many RFA's who have signed offer sheets and would have preferred they not be matched but they get matched because as the team you don't let your RFA's walk because they might be happier elsewhere, the Hornets are a bad team and they won't improve if they give in every time a player is unhappy.

Lock a guy up for $60M over 4 years who doesn't want to be there?

This is CP3 all over again.

I don't know how more clear his statement can get.

You don't want that on your hands man...word to Orlando.

Dude was close to signing a deal with NO before the deadline, don't see all of a sudden the change in heart now that he's getting more $$ and in a much better situation.

Exactly, I can't see why so many seem to think they're just going to give him away to Phoenix.

Why is Gordon so sold on Phoenix? I don't get it... there's really no pieces there.

It'd take more then just Kendall Marshall for Demps to consider a S&T, it'd basically be back to square one again for him in PHX

Because the first thing you want to do when you are bringing in two fresh rookies is to bring in a disgruntled, probably pissed off Eric Gordon back.

While I agree that trading him to Phoenix doesn't have to happen, the Hornets should trade him. Immediately. He could end up being toxic in the fresh locker room. Don't want him to mess with your two young rooks.

You mean your bank account will look nice in PHX..

Just glad to see a bigger name free agent land somewhere for the max that isn't a major market. Cool to see. If PHX gets to keep Gordon, Nash stays? Maybe they can swing another deal/signing for another star... or not.

Either way hopefully Hornets do a sign and trade, or else smfh at you Stern for turning down the Laker trade last year. You damn fool.

The guy said his heart is elsewhere.

It's not like he was a FA and decided to go to NO...didn't like it and said he wants to leave.

He got traded there against his will and now he's saying his heart is somewhere else...what more do you need to hear?

You want your highest paid player miserable?

Melo, CP3, Dwight...you don't want that on your hands.

NO will do a sign and trade if they are smart. I don't know what pieces PHO will include, maybe Marshall, Gortat, and next year's 1st round pick?

Not sure what else PHO has to offer as far as productive pieces?

That's all Demps would take at least imo, heck I almost like that idea. Marshall/Rivers/Aminu(or other SF)/Davis/Gortat

I can see a trade happening, I don't think its likely and I definitely don't think Phoenix is a viable option due to lack of assets.

They might trade him if he is that unhappy but like chris said he was at one point supposed to be working on an extension, I don't see what could have changed between then and now when they have actually gotten a lot better with some nice pieces joining him. But I guess that wouldn't be the first time Gordon strung someone along only to change his mind and leave a team in a bad spot.

EDIT: If they can, they should get Gortat. I doubt PHX gives him up though

But at the same time you almost wonder if he even means any of this as he was happy with NO all the way up to now, I mean technically he's not gonna say "I'm agreeing to this max offer just so NO matches this offer and I can go back and make more money there"
